Perdido Key

The Purple Parrot Village Resort is a gated community that features an alternative to the typically high-rise vacation. The resort is dotted with colorful free-standing condos and, coupled with over 100 palm trees, provides a tropical ambiance for your Florida vacation. The resort is not beachfront, however the outdoor pool is rivaled by none other in the area! • Amazing, perfect in everyway!
  From the moment we walked in it felt like it was our own private vacation home! Far superior to staying in a hotel. Cozy, comfortable and superbly decorated. Everything you need is already there. Unfortunatly it was the off season so we were not able to enjoy the fabulous pool and tiki bar, but we will be sure to go back during season when things are in full swing.

• Very nice
  Had some work done on my home here in Pensacola. We picked Irish Isles and were very happy with out decision. I was a little disappointed with the lack of a pantry, but ample counter space worked fine to store our groceries. The large refrigerator was a nice touch. The large TV in the living room was nice, but the cable reception was fair at best. Master bed was a little uncomfortable, as it was very soft and not what my back needed. Other beds were fine. Really liked the location (Next to heated pool and across the parking area to the outdoor pool.

• Terrific
  The people at the rental company were freindly and accomodating. The home was sooo much better than the high rises;We prefer that. The location, while not on the beach, was great for shoping and resturants.

• Very nice condo with most comfortable bed ever!!
  Perfect weekend getaway, close to everything. Staff kind and helpful and I've never slept better on a bed!! Super clean and very well decorated. Would definitely stay there again!!!

• Not what it seemed
  We came with 3 children and were told the indoor pool, spa and work out facility were available. Everything was locked up with a sign that was closed for painting. We should have been told this at time of renting the unit. I feel like we were mislead. No toilet paper, no soap. No dishwasher soap.

• A home away from home
  Our check in to "Return to Me" cottage was very simple. The office staff made sure to notify us that they would be leaving early for a meeting on the day of our check-in and offered us options of how we would like to check-in. The cottage was clean, with all of the essential kitchen tools. It was great for fixing Christmas dinner. The heated indoor pool and fitness room were clean and we greatly enjoyed using them. We loved the location so convenient to the Naval aviation Museum and many other attractions.

• It was our best family Christmas ever
  This was our second stay at the resort. Our first stay was a between house hunt when we lived in Pensacola. We loved it so much we stayed for 4 mounths instead of 4 weeks. This resort home was great for bringing all my family together for Christmas. We enjoyed it so much that we are going back in March. You must check it out!

• A wonderful alternative to a hotel stay
  Our trip was for a sad family event and we were travelling with a 4 week old infant on a car trip that took 14 hours. The thought of a hotel/motel was horrifying. The Purple Parrot was the perfect alternative. It was wonderful to have a nice mini-home when we got to the coast. We used the pool and spa in the middle of winter. The condo was immaculate and fully stocked with everything we needed. We would highly recommend this location and have stayed here before during the summer - it was definitely a good time.

• Clean and comfortable
  We only had one problem--lack of WiFi--and that was quickly corrected by the friendly staff. Other than that, the unit was in great shape, very clean and comfortable, in a great location, and an excellent value. Would stay there again.

• Decent place
  13CD was a decent place to stay though it could do with a few small improvements. I loved the tile flooring, though it could get pretty cold when the temperature dropped one night. The kitchen was bright and clean, but could be improved with a larger coffee maker, a tea kettle and a small amount of washing up liquid to tide you over till you get to the store. There was only one tea towel that I could find. The bathroom was clean with a good stock of towels and again - one roll of toilet paper sure would be nice to find. The bed was wonderfully soft and comfortable. The TV in the living room did not work and the couch was terribly uncomfortable to sit on. All in all a decent place to stay - if you rent this unit be sure to bring everything you might need right from the start, cause this one provides nothing extra. The note on fridge says there is a pass to the state park, but none was found - and looking back through the visitor book on the coffee table it seems to have been missing for quite some time

• Quick Getaway on New Year's
  We decided on a quick getaway for New Year's and called Purple Parrot. We chose Lazy Daze for it nice view of the pool and it didn't disappoint. As a bonus it has a nice king size bed, a loft and two nice tv's not to mention the 1/2 bath that was convenient. With Purple Parrot's proximity to Johnson Beach I would highly recommend staying here. We enjoyed our stay and plan to return in the future.

• Nice, but not as nice as other houses we've stayed in at the Pur
  As usual, management was very accomadating with our arrival. Excellent management is probably the number one reason we keep coming back to Purple Parrot. This time though, we had a few issues with the house we were staying in. None of them were huge problems, but all of them together was kind of a hassle. The house was beginning to show signs of wear: plaster peeling from the ceiling in the master bedroom, loose faucet in the downstairs bathroom, the drawer under the stove was broken so everytime we opened it, it fell off its tracks onto the floor, the comfortor in the master bedroom had rips in it. There was no bedding for the hide a bed and there was only the couch and one chair in the living room, so every night when my family of 5 wanted to watch a movie together, there wasn't enough seating for everyone and somebody ended up on the floor. None of these by themselves are a huge deal, nor are they enough to deter us from coming back. This house just wasn't as nice as the first two we stayed in. I did enjoy being closer to the pool.

• Absolutely amazing!

• Wonderful
  I was a little awe struck with how nice the resort is. We arrived to a home that we felt had everything! The place is simply beautiful and a walk away from the beach. We really loved the fact the home had laundry units, wireless internet, and a full kitchen stocked with anything you needed to cook. The pools (One indoor & one outdoor) were lovely also. Management really made things easy as possible with checking in and were very friendly and helpful. The resort is really in a great location. Follow perdido key drive one way and your in the gulf area of alabama within minutes. Head the other way and your headed towards down town Pensacola. Plentiful entertainment and great seafood everywhere. We were able to do something new and also eat at a great restaurant every night we stayed. May I add you take a walk and visit the beach right down the street. The most beautiful beach I've experienced in my travels. Everything was so nice we did not want to leave! We've vowed to return next year.

• Bright and cozy
  We stayed here over Christmas while visiting my daughter and her family. The condo was clean and decorated nicely with all the necessities. Plenty of towels for both the bath and the pool. Pool and hot tub area was well maintained and a lot of fun. Rental agent was fantastic and took care of everything we needed.

• A great time, and great memory.
  It was fantastic to visit and spend Thanksgiving with family in Pensacola at this comfortable, convenient home within walking distance to the beach. We relaxed and took a break from our crazy lives, and the house couldn't have been more pleasant for us.

• Deep sigh of relief!
  We had a wonderful stay at the Rancho Deluxe. We enjoyed perfect weather, rode our bikes at the nearby Gulf Islands National Seashore, and relaxed on the deck with warm drinks as the sun slowly left the sky. This is a very well-managed property. The ladies at the office (especially Meagan) are quick to respond to any need. The condo is nicely appointed and had many extras that we deeply appreciated. We would definitely stay again!

• Great place to stay!
  We had a great time at the Purple Parrot. The place was very spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed the pool and excercise room frequently. We were disappointed that the Tiki Bar was closed but it will not prevent us from returning. Hope to come back soon.

• Great location, friendly staff, and military discount!!
  I discovered The Purple Parrot Resort online while looking for a hotel to reserve and thought it looked nice and the pricing was reasonable (although once the cleaning fee is added, it makes the price higher than the average hotel - but was still a decent value for our party of 8). I was very appreciative of the military discount that we received too! I read some of the other reviews, and do agree that the condo itself is kind of shabbily built (ie: you can hear a pin drop in another room - thin walls, you can feel the unit shake if a door is closed too hard or someone runs up/down the stairs)and I would not want to stay there during hurricane season! The unit was fairly spacious, had a washer & dryer,and was well stocked with the kitchen basics - the only issues we had was that it needs a good deep cleaning (light fixtures full of bugs, ceiling fans, walls and woodwork need to be washed, baseboards and ceilings had built up dust and cobwebs etc),the bedding & towels were also very well worn and one of the dining chair legs was broken making eatting together a challenge. Also, making customers aware that trash bags, papertowels and toilet paper are not provided would be good information prior to their stay. The staff was friendly and helpful, which was appreciated considering I had to call a couple times to get reimbursed for being overcharged and also to inform them of the broken chair. We had a nice stay, and would consider coming back during the warmer months to take advantage of the pool and beach and would also recommend this unit/complex to family/friends wanting to visit the area.

• Love this area and Purple Parrot is a great place to stay.
  I enjoy cooking while on vacation...however pans etc needs updated..most were in poor shape and not up to par as the previous rentals. Towels were limited 3 very skimpy bath towels and 2 wash cloths...we needed to wash every day in order to have clean towels. We had made reservations for a different unit but while in transit the day of arrival the unit had been changed. The management did offer to move us to another unit if we were unsatisfied however who really wants to move after you have traveled and carried in all luggage. Overall I love Purple Parrot and the staff is very nice, but this unit will be on my do not reserve list.

• Another wonderful stay
  This was my 3rd stay at the Purple Parrot. Once again I was not disappointed. The condo was very nice, just perfect for me and my friend. Staff was wonderful and the surroundings/grounds were exemplary as usual.

• Very relaxing!
  The toliet in the larger bedroom continued to run after being flushed. We had to raise the handle manually to get it to stop. Also there was a "raccoon hole" in the front porch screen when we arrived. Both of these were no problem...just wanted to make you aware of them. The bed in the large bedroom was so comfortable...I wanted to take it home with me! We had everything we needed for our short stay. The rooms are beautiful...we had a great time in the lovely house. I would not recommend this house for older people. The tub was very high. A little difficult getting in and out.

• We Loved It !!!
  Had a great time. The place was very clean and had all we needed. We rented two units 10c and 11c and had all the room the 12 of us needed. We even cooked an early Thanksgiving Dinner. fried turkey the works !!! all the comforts of home. Oh yea, the indoor pool was great for the kids since it rained the first 2 days. • Great resort
  We enjoyed our stay at our condo "Montego Bay" at Perdido Key Resort. It was more than we thought it would be. All we need to bring along were clothes, our personal products and some food to cook. We didn't get to use the outdoor pool, but it is so beautiful. We would most definitely visit Perdido Key Resort in the future and recommend it to family and friends.

• Very relaxing and clean.
  I am one to stay at many different locations throughout the year depending on the event. I tried this because of location to airshow and beach. All the places i have stayed i think you have the best pool, sauna and hottub set up. The Condo was clean and spacious. Could not catch Espnu so i missed my LSU tigers play. I will return to this condo in the future. Very pleased with my stay.

• Disappointing !!!
  This was our 2nd stay since May 2011 and upon arrival we find out that the Tiki bar & grill had been closed down by a court order on Nov 1st.Perdido Key Management had plenty of time to notify us so that we could make other arrangements but they did not. In addition,it appeared that no one had cleaned the condo since our last stay in May. Dust and grime covered the ceiling fans,fridge and some windows.In additon the condo smelled like cigarette smoke.My wife & I are planning another trip for late spring 2012 and we probably will not be staying at the Purple Parrot.

  Thank you for the feedback. The bar is not operated by the rental staff, however we know that it is important to keep our guests informed which is why we sent an email out to all of our arriving guests regarding the seasonal hours of the tiki bar prior to this guest's arrival. Perhaps it was not checked. The resort website is also current and states that the bar is closed for the season. This guest arrived after hours and we always check the inside of the condo when setting up a late arrival. This condo was clean and ready for check-in just as we strive for the units to be before each and every arrival. When this guest came into the office the next morning they mentioned, not complained, that it was unfortunate the bar was seasonally closed. The representative they spoke to could tell they were disappointed and provided them with vouchers for drinks at another nearby bar, applied a 10% discount to their stay and also removed our $25 booking fee. We want to keep our guests happy as best we are able and though we cannot open the seasonally closed bar, we were able to extend a discount for their stay in hopes that they would return during the summer when the bar was open. The guests were pleased with the gesture and told the representative thank you. No mention at all was made concerning the condo needing attention or not being clean. The guests came in again later during their stay and asked if they could use one of our office computers to print their boarding passes for the flight home. We gladly allowed them to do so and spoke to them concerning their stay. They indicated that they enjoyed themselves and made no mention about anything wrong with the condo, just that they were disappointed the bar was not open in November. Concerning smells; the condo owner is a non-smoker and was the last person to stay in the unit. All of our condos are non-smoking units. Additionally, I personally walked through this unit after reading this misleading review. There is NO grime nor any bad smell in this condo. I have emailed this guest, but to-date have not received a response. Please know that if something is in need of attention in one of our properties, we hope you will tell us so that we may quickly correct it. • Wonderful Time Had!

• Awesome
  The home was beautiful! Would love to return! Had very minor issue with getting password for wireless internet, and then when password obtained , it did not work. Mainly issue with teenagers! • It was relaxing and active at the right times.
  The Purple Parrot is in an excellent location and the cottages are a perfect set up. It's great for doing stuff, including R&R.; However, my condo, 18CU, looked a bit worned, the frig was rusted, and light bulbs were out in the BR and bath.

• The Perfect Vacation
  We've stayed at the Purple parrot about five times. We always try out a different house and have absolutely loved them all. It is the perfect place to get away from it all and really just rest. Sometimes you come back froma vacation feeling more tired than when you left...not with this one! They take very good care of you and everything you need is already there! We will be back for our annual visit next October!

• *** 4 Star Stay!!
  We had to call aAa and were delayed 3 hours. We arrived in the dark not knowing the area and Megan told us they would put the key under the mat and thankfully it was there!! The cottage was like family holding their arms out like a great big hug. We both had a great night sleep and overall an excellent 4 star stay!!

• we did not want our stay to end.
  the ppvr's are great alternative to the high rise condos. the sea robin is warm and decorated with taste, the owner's photos are a definite plus. perdido key is a little piece of heaven and the local restaurants are excellent. fresh grouper from joe patti's was easy to prepare in the well equipped "galley". this was our fourth stay at the purple parrot and we are planning our fifth.

• Great family vaca!
  This was our first time to stay at Purple Parrot Resort. The house we rented was The Escape Plan. The house was clean and had everything we needed. Really enjoyed our stay and the staff at the purple parrot was very helpful with suggestions for things to do while there. Was nice to see security on the premises at night. We will be returning. No complaints at all!

• 42C Rocks!
  We rented Beach Mama's 42C for a weekend getaway with my sister and her family. It was more than we could have ever asked for. We required late check-in and as promised the key was readily available and the pool passes were inside waiting! The condo was very clean and outfitted with all the modern convienences. Although it was not on the beach it was a quick drive. We grilled out in the courtyard and enjoyed a peaceful picnic dinner! Thank you for a great weekend!

• Lovin the view!

• Everything you could need within walking distance!

• Beaches, restaurants and fishing was fabulous
  When we stepped into Montego Bay we thought we had entered a Tommy Bahama showroom. The layout was top rate!It was so welll furnished that there was literally no kitchen cabinet room for anything you want to bring to cook. Johnson Beach is only minutes away. I fished on the beach side as well as the intercoastal side and caught loads of fish from the bank. Paula,from the terrific resort management team arranged a tee time as well as a special rate for a great golf course minutes away.Don't plan on eating anything from the Tiki Bar area. Even though they advertised great food, I never could catch anyone near the food area in the five days we stayed. However,go to the nearby Point Restaurant or Fishermans Corner. The food is excellent and reasonably priced.We will definetly be back!!

• Not as relaxing as I had hoped it would be
  I stayed at the Junkanoo 14B and was not as impressed as I had hoped I would be. Areas of my stay were fantastic..I arrived late but JD made sure that wasn't a problem. The pool was beautiful as was the beach just down the road. But there were several things I didn't like about the condo. Junkanoo sits on the cornor, which means when people come flying around the corner (speed limit is 10 mph) you better watch out! It is also not small child friendly with the glass tables and the stairs (which I knew it had, but I wasn't aware my daughter would be so onry!!) The floors/area rug were also kinda dirty as I found out when she was crawling around. Not to mention the several (I would assume) cigarette burns in the rug. The chairs on the porch/balcony weren't very comfortable (similar to rod iron) and the balcony door from the Master was very difficult to open and close. The door had to be slammed, which would wake my daughter since she was in the room with me. Both full bathrooms were equipped with nice big bath tubs, but the water pressure left much to be desired. The resort itself was fabulous! Would I stay in Junkanoo again? No. But there are many more I could check out next time!

• Perfect Time
  Perfect time of the year to travel. Great resort with a great villa. Plenty of room. The 3 bedroom was great for our 4 children. Master toilet ran off and on but we reported this to management the day we left. The resort was clean and well kept. We plan to return real soon. For those of you that have children and like to swim at dark in the pool use some caution since there is a bar area near the pool for adults. Might want to use those day time hours for the pool.

• Weekend Getaway
  Just wanted a weekend together. Check in was easy as pie. The home was lovely with everything we could want. It was exactly what we were looking for. Loved having coffee and wine on our very own front porch! while not on the waterfront, the beach was a very short drive with plenty of parking. The worst part was that we had to leave and go back to the real world. Can't wait to come again!!

• A very affordable and awesome vacation resort.
  It felt like we were in the Bahamas with the oasis that surrounding us. The villa cozy and great. We weren't right by the beach, but it was only a few minutes drive away. The pool and surrounding area was huge and very tropical.

• Relaxing
  This condo was so relaxing. It is on the edge of the poolside near the Tiki Bar. There were a couple of bands that we got to listen to, but they were not so loud as to be interfering with conversation on the front porch. The condo inside was very calming in its decor and well equipped. The master bed was firm yet soft and the kids loved the loft. We loved being by the pool side and that our condo was well shaded by trees and screened in so we could enjoy ourselves during the day on the porch as well as the evening. • Perfectly affordable vacation !!!
  We stayed here on our honeymoon. It is perfect for couples and a short distance from the beach. The resort pool and tiki bar is second to none. Live music twice a day and a great vibe !!! Beautiful atmosphere, close to every major food stores. Very clean secured gated bungalow. We will be comming back, already in the works !!!

• A great stay at a hot time of year
  Dues paid was well appointed with the basic equipment needed for a stay.The view from the master bedroom was a plus. Very clean and nice. Since we are both seniors we decided not to rent a 2 bedroom in the future since we found all the stairs to the upstairs bedrooms difficult to navigate. Also, for seniors, the location of Dues Paid is a slight walk from where the car might be parked .Other than this, all was well.

• Nice resort
  The resort was nice, clean, and spacious. The parking was not too good. There should be reserved parking for each house not just open. With Parrothead being on the end, there was not much parking for us. The description for Parrothead says it overlooks the pool but it does not. The pool was nice and the kids loved the waterfall. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Only master bedroom had tv. Other guests were not able to watch tv in their rooms. Overall we would come back.

• Great accomadations lacked southern hospitality
  The cottages are adorable. Great pool. Great food and enteratinment at the Tiki bar. Nice that the bar is on site and very accesible. The waiters and waitresses at the Tiki were horrible. Very bad service. We tried to order drinks from our table and were told that " the bar is over there".

• A comfortable, romantic getaway.

• Riding out Tropical Storm Lee at Parrot Head!
  8 girlfriends from North alabama did not let Tropical Storm Lee put a damper on our Labor Day week-end! This was my 3rd time to stay at the Purple Parrot and the 1st time that we took advantage of the indoor facilities. The pool and hot tub were very relaxing and clean. The Parrot Head, unit 2a, provided plenty of space for 8 people, nice kitchen, beds were comfortable, bathrooms clean. The carpet in the LR had several dark stains and the shower liners probably should be replaced, but overall a great place to stay. Would definitely recommend this unit for anyone considering it. As always, JD and staff are second to none, very helpful, friendly, and just a pleasure to deal with every time. The Purple Parrot Resort is a wonderful place to stay...beautiful grounds and a great value! We'll be back next year!

• Loved this place!!!
  Our stay in this condo was wonderful! The bed was comfortable, kitchen was well equipped, and the washer/dryer was a nice bonus. The condo was beautifully decorated and very clean. We felt very at home there. The pool was nice, also. The beautiful beaches were very close and there were many restaurants in the area to choose from (Lillian's Pizza and Sunset Grille were our favorites). And the Publix grocery store right down the road was great to have close by. Staff was really friendly and quickly helped us out with anything we needed. Thanks to the resort for such wonderful stay, we will be back for sure!

• Diving gone away
  We traveled to Pensacola to go diving but with the tropical storm that was out but we decided to go down anyway. Once there we did get out the beach one day. We also visited the Naval air Museum, which was wonderful and would not have had time to see that if we had gotten to dive. We had a great time even though there was a tropical storm.

• Best value on the beach.
  We loved our stay at Purple Parrot. This was our second time to rent this unit. We also had family renting at the Purple Parrot in neighboring units. The purple Parrot is perfect for families. From the large pool and volleyball courts, to the gated neighborhood feel, where the children/preteens could walk around and we felt comfortable with in them doing so. At night, the children would swim in the pool (we have older children) while the adults enjoyed the fantastic bands (reggae and rusty grits) at the tiki bar. There was also great food! We came during Labor day and were welcomed by Tropical Storm Lee, but that didnt stop the fun, the kids also enjoyed the indoor pool area! Our unit itself was very clean and comfortable, bright and cheery. We love the purple parrot! We will def book again...and again! And for the price, it cannot be beat!

• Accomodations were very nice, weather was lousy.
  We enjoyed the accomodations at The Purple Parrott Resort. We had to cut our stay short 2 days because of the tropical depression that was in the Gulf of Mexico and the weather warnings and watches it caused. We enjoyed the condo and it had everything for a family staying there. The condo was decorated nicley and had all the appliances. The dvd players built into the tv's was nice and enjoyed by the children. Due to the weather we were not able to try the outside pool. We did enjoy the indoor pool the 2 times we we used it. We have told our friends of this resort and we will come down and stay here again, weather permitting.

• Fantasic
  We loved it!!! No Complants - great in Everyway - ages from 15 - 51 and we all had a great time and it rained the whole time - the staff was great - the Tiki bar - food was good music was good and the Enviroment fun and family Freindly - we will be staying again - great location - my daughter was the purple parrot when she was in gulf shores in June 2011 and thought it looked Realy cute so we had a long weekend a booked it and loved it - there was 6 of us and we all had a ball -

• Absolutely Perfect
  My husband and I had the best week ever here at the Purple Parrot. The Calypso Cabana was the perfect home away from home. It was beautifully decorated and very welcoming, we are already planning on coming back next summer! On a rainy day we even found board games in the closet and had a blast indoors. Calypso Cabana is wonderful!

  This was a great place to stay for a mini-vacation to Florida! The rental was clean, and the staff was very professional and nice. I would only suggest that the furniture on the outside porch be updated. It has given all it can! :)

• Very nice
  The condo was decorated in a beach style. Was very comfortable, especially the bed. We were close to the pool and Tiki Bar but the music, although I could faintly hear it, was not disturbing and did not keep us awake. The Office Management Staff were very accommodating and made us feel welcomed. They went out of their way to help us when needed. The pool area is very relaxing and there were plenty of chairs. Although we didn't go there at night, I'm assuming it would be a great place for younger (20+) crowd. I would return.

• Home away From Home
  Staying at the Purple Parrot in Perdido Key was relaxing and pleasant. We had all the comforts of home (even the slow drainging tub). The convenience of having us altogether without being in each other's way kept us sane. Eating meals together in a home setting was a savings.

• Summer Getaway
  The condo was very clean and comfortable. Although the photos were very accurate we still were a little disappointed at the lack of privacy, particularly as far as outdoor space goes. The screened porch overlooked a busy walkway and another unit's porch. The units are very close and we could hear the tenants upstairs. From a previous review I assumed the unit had wireless internet (a necesssity for us) but it did not. The manager was very accommmodating concerning this and even came to the unit and hooked our laptop up with an ethernet cord. Being summer, the outdoor pool was very busy but I used the indoor pool and had it all to myself.

• Almost Home away From Home
  My stay at the purple parrot was different from the last experience in 2008 when I got married there. I found that the staff was still awesome but I was suprised to see that more condo's were built but was extremely disappointed that additional parking was not built as well. • We love parrotopia
  This is our second time at Parrotopia, and this time we were here in summer and were able to take advantage of the outdoor pool and porches. The beds were great and we love the decor including the big purple couch. We even spent one evening playing scrabble. We will be back.

  We enjoyed a 9 days stay in this cottage with full equipment esp in the kitchen. Nice spacious bedroom and bathroom with sufficient storage and towels. Livingroom could be arranged in a better way (furniture) and TV set should be changed into a flatscreen. Good working free Wifi.

• We had a great time here!
  We really enjoyed our stay and hoping to go back soon. The condo was so nice and very clean. The pool was awesome. We spent many relaxing days poolside. Our son really enjoyed swimming and playing with other kids there. The only negative I can think of was that one of the security guards didnt seem very friendly and he almost gave us the feeling like he was watching us, as if he thought we were doing something wrong. We all had our bracelets on so we didnt worry about this too much. I did notice he carried a gun and that surprised me a bit! Overall, it was a really wonderful experience and well worth it. We would like to go back and stay in one of the condos that are poolside. The office staff were very helpful and friendly and made us feel welcome!

• rain go away
  did not get check in informationfor Sunday. Paper work said to check in between 4 and 5. Did not say anything about Sunday check in before 2. We rode around in car in the rain for 3 hours waiting on 4oclock. Then had to call every number we could find to get in room. I'm sure the pool was nice, got alot of rest with rain every day. Can't control mother nature! Was a pretty place.

• Almost paradise!
  Unit was furnished beautifully and was clean, even had cleaning supplies and fully stocked linens, towels, et al. If you don't mind walking up stairs would recommend 2d floor unit, we happened to have noisy upstairs neighbors. However, ground floor close to the pool was very convenient with kids. The pool and tiki bar were fantastic, only complaint with those is that they are open to he public also and anyone can come in. The indoor pool/hot tub/gym were immaculate, and open long hours! The grounds coul have been kept a little neater, but they were good. On the whole an excellent experience and would recommend to family and friends, good value for the money.

  This was a spur of the moment vacation with our granddaughter. We chose Perdido Key because my sister was staying at Sandy Key. She had seen the Purple Parrot. We checked and were able to book a condo. Condo was beautiful, pool was great and the beach was wonderful. Had a great time. Hope to visit again.

• It was relaxing getaway at the beach!
  We have stayed at this property before and always enjoy ourselves. The unit and grounds are clean and well kept and very close to the beach. The only issue we had this time was in regards to the pool on the property. It is now open to the public for a fee and you can no longer bring your own food/drinks to the pool. This was not ideal for the pool was more crowded and less convenient.

• Wonderful, relaxing experience
  We had a great time. Check in was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The condo itself was very nice and clean. The pool was great, along with the service at the Tiki Bar. The drive to the beach was very short. We went to the State Park area which was very nice, not too crowded. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely like to come back.

• mother/daughter retreat
  The Purple Parrot is a charming resort with an amazing lagoon-type pool area. We were very pleased with our unit. It was exceptionally clean and very nicely decorated. After shopping around, it was one of the best rates I found for a long mother/daughter weekend and was well worth the money. The staff was exceptional. In fact, at 11:30 one night, we realized we locked our keys in our unit and had to call the property manager to help. He was totally accomodating and as pleasant as ever. My only complaint is that the resort is not on the beach; but it is only a 5 minute drive to Johnson Beach or the public beach which are both very nice. I've considering returning for an extended family vacation as there is ample space poolside for all to gather and many tiki huts and picnic tables where we could mingle. Nice sandy volleyball courts too. Great value for the money.

• 2011 summer vacation
  over all very nice place. I was very unhappy when my 7 year old left his ds games that he just got for his birthday and the management didnt get back to me. I still dont know if they found it or not. Really sad for my son he spent all of his money for the games and we know for a fact they were left there. The management did tell me that the cleaners were very trust worthy but not in our case.

  Thanks for the kind words concerning the place. It is regrettable that the games were lost, however I am perturbed regarding the questioned integrity. I personally walked through the condo, in addition to the housekeepers who have turned in things ranging from wedding bands and video games in the past, and found no ds games in the condo. I personally looked under all of the furniture, in the closets, in the couch, and everywhere else I could think to look. I am certain that I would have found the games had they been left in the condo. I want all of our guests to have a good time and favorable opinion of the resort when leaving which is why I try to go the extra length in a instances like these, however in this case the games were lost elsewhere as they were not in the condo.   This is a beautiful unit for a couple or couple and one child. I loved the location because it is right at the pool. I could sit on the porch and watch my child at the pool. The most comfortable king size bed I have ever slept in. The only down side for my 14 year old son was that the band was loud. They played alot of oldies (which were good for me). He didn't know any of them. :) Also, the pool is open to the public. Just wish is was private. However, I see why they do because of the bar. Got to make money somehow. Hopefully, I can go again with just my girlfriends or just my husband. Don't think I will stay again if I have the children with me.

• Nice place for a weekend
  The pool was very nice. The tiki bar was fun and loved the daily entertainment! Staff was friendly and accommodating. Security was always around and checked cars entering,etc. so safety was not an issue. Our villa was nicely decorated with updates, but the construction of the building was shaky. The upstairs floors would shake when anyone would go up or down the steps. The walls were thin, so we could hear things going on outside as well as others in another room. We had a couple bugs in the villa, but were not carried away by them and realize that is expected in Florida. It was a nice place for a weekend stay but I wouldn't want to stay entire week or longer.

• Love d Perdido Resort!
  We truly enjoyed out stay at Perdido Key Resort. The Sea Robin 11a was very nice. Comfortable beds, well furnished, and the marguarita machine worked great! We came to Pensacola to visit our son in the air Force there. We cooked out at our condo, enjoyed the pool, and the music entertainment at the Tiki Bar. The folks in the office were extremely friendly.

  Perdido Key was the best vacation our family has taken. Our stay at Slow Mo in the Purple Parrot resort was relaxing and memorable. Condo was clean and furnished with more than we expected. Loved having a washer and dryer right in the condo. Plenty of room for my husband, myself, and our boys, ages 15 and 10. We did bring a blow-up mattress because even the best pull-out sofas just aren't comfy. Location of this condo was ideal. Only a few steps from the gorgeous pool, yet far enough to have our peace and quiet. Pool was clean, large. Evening bands and food were excellent. Staff members, both at the pool and resort were helpful and friendly. Cost of the 7-night rental was reasonable. Information on the website and e-mail updates that we received prior to our trip made us aware of the rules and informed of things that we would need to bring...no surprises. Location of the Resort was ideal-enough distance from the busy main strip in Orange Beach and Gulf Shores. Didn't have to fight the crowds or traffic if we chose not to. Still we were only a few minutes away from the wonderful restaurants and beaches in that area. Only a few minutes away from the Purple Parrot was also one of the most beautiful beaches that we have ever experienced...Johnson Beach. Got to see the Blue angels practice while we were there. I want to share two comments from my husband. He mentioned that I had said I loved this place within only a few minutes of arriving, and also commented that I wasn't ready to leave as I usually am at the end of a vacation. So true! Our family wants to return as soon as possible. My husband has dreams of retiring in this area. I had to edit this review, as I went over the amount of characters that are allowed, which speaks volumes in itself. I could be a spokesperson for the Purple Parrot, Slow Mo, and beautiful Perdido Key area. Thank you for making our family vacation one that will be remembered for a lifetime!!!

• Great condo, nice pool area.
  It was a really nice place to stay. We enjoyed our condo and relaxing by the pool. Also, the bands were good. the only complaint I would have is that parking got kind of tight two different nights that we were there. Otherwise, a great vacation!

• Wonderful Stay in Perdido
  We stayed at the Boogie Man for a week in July and loved it. The house was very comfortable and had plenty of room for our group. We liked being a short walking distance from the pool, but not so close that the music would keep us up at night. It was great to have the pool and tiki bar as an alternative to the beach. It was nice to be able to meet and visit with other people who were staying at the Purple Parrot, and although the property appeared to be full, it never felt crowded. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will likely return next year.

  Dues Paid is a lovely home, beautifully decorated and close to beach and to Naval air Station. We were visiting my son who is in a School and he and his brother and I had a great time. Johnson Beach is very close and was fantastic! Would recommend house to anyone!

  Check in easy and problem free. Not a great location. Restaurant pricey for a burger. Didnt like the armband things to get in pool area. The resort was ok. I thought it would be nicer than it was and closer to thebeach.

• Chamber of Commerce offer disappoints some visitors to Perdido
  My only disappointment with booking this vacation is that one to two days after booking, we received an e-mail offering a 200 dollar credit from the Chamber of Commerce if we booked by end of July. We were very disappointed that we were not allowed to partake in this offer. It should have been offered to anyone who booked during the time period stated which we did.   Sorry that Visitor Center's promotion did not apply to your reservation. That promotion began in early August and was for reservation which occurred between 8/9 and 9/5. The seasonal specials offered in our area are much like those of others in which the promotions have a start date, end date and restrictions. The restrictions of the Amex promo you are referring to leave little room for bending of the rules as the money being given away was provided by BP and as a result the promotion is audited. I hope that your stay in the SandCastle was a good one. From your review I gather that you agree the condo is fantastic, its location within the resort is great and the end of July is a great time to be in Perdido Key as the first line is that your only disappointment was not being eligible for the Visitor Center's promotion. • Amazing
  Me and my children came here to visit with my husband who is doing schooling/training at NaS Pensacola, it was really close to the base and the kids had a blast at the pool. I will be returning to this resort in the future

• Fabulous!
  We enjoyed our stay even though it was raining some of the time. Kids enjoyed the sand and built castles while we sat on the porch and watched. Location of this unit is the best in the complex for young children. Far enough away from the live entertainment/bar...but not too far for the adults. We will be back next year.

• 1st Time
  Ths was a 1st time on the beach in Florida for our lil French 19yr old visitor. She really enjoyd the white sands of Perdido and loved the Purple Parrott. The only complaint we had was the box springs in the upstairs master bedroom squeaked very loudly when "jus" turning over or slowly moving...and i might add jus sleepin...No...funny stuff...to many folks in the house... :)

• Most relaxing week in Florida ever!
  I am military. We just moved to the Pensacola area and we needed a place to stay for 10 days while waiting for the house we are renting to be available for move in. I just recently returned from Deployment, and with the move happening so quickly afterward, it has been a stressful time for me and my family. The gated comunity atmosphere allowed us to let our hair down and let the kids have a little more freedom to play and have fun. We loved the pool, and the kids spent nearly every waking hour splashing and playing there. The 2 bedroom condo (Andalucia 16C) was a little more expensive than the other smaller condos, but with 3 kids, the extra space was well worth the cost! I would recommend the Purple Parrot to anyone!

• We had a nice time!
  Loved 15a with the exception of the plastic cover on the queen bed. You couldn't move with out the loud crinkling of plastic. The pool rules are ridiculous! Don't understand why I couldnt bring in my big plastic cup if I bought my cokes at the concession stand. Your ice melts even in the cups they provide. At $1.75 a drink I would like it to stay cold! Sell me a plastic "Purple Parrott" cup! I don't mind buying a cup if it's insolated!! Also the young teenaged boy they have working at the pool is very rude!! Office staff was polite and professional. The pool personnel should spend some time with them... Maybe they would learn a thing or two!

• Purple Parrot (Serenity Now) - A Great Getaway
  My Fiance and I stayed here while visiting my sister, and it was the perfect place for us. The size of the rental was just right and the location was great for us. We were close to the pool, so we could hear the live music, but it really didn't keep us up (there are definitely rentals further from the pool if this is a concern for you) The pool is a great place to hangout, and I'd actually go back to Purple Parrot just for the pool and sand area. Overall this was a great getaway, and I'd definitely stay there again if I'm ever needing a place in Pensacola.

• New Experience
  The enviroment was different-the Tiki Hut and swimming pool together was different-it was a plus in some ways but a minus in others. The availability of food and drinks was good-but the fact that you could not bring your own food and drink was a minus. The convenience was a plus, if you were just 2 adults, but when you have a group of children that you have to pay for the food and drink, it becomes costly. I understand the Tiki Hut has to make money. I guess I don't understand why the condo management doesn't own the Tiki Hut? The entertainment of the Live Band was a plus. The condo Unit itself was okay-except the fact that we had to rent 2 to accomodate our family. We like to stay together under one unit. It made it more challenging because we had to go back and forth to each condo to get different things. The restrictions on the number of people in a unit-I think is is ridicilous. I mean for a 1 Bedroom, one family(Husband, wife, and 3 kids ages 10, 4, and 1) was pushing it-we had to beg to allow the baby.The parking situation was horrible on one night. There should be space for 2 vechilces per unit and we had 2 units but only 3 vechicles and did not have a place to park- one of us had to park on the opposite side of the condos and the other had to make-shift park-illegally. Warning notices were put on the cars-without parking atickers-but that did not help us to have availability-they should have been towed, at least to the front parking lot. It made it difficult when you had to walk accross carrying sleeping children. Parking needs to be monitored more. The units itself were sufficiently supplied. The only other suggestion would be-for the smokers out there-is maybe put a gallon tin can outside on the porch-for smokers to throw away there cigarette butts properly and not on the grounds.

  Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. I am glad that you mentioned enjoying this condo, the bar, grill and pool. Having the bar there requires that guest not be able to bring drinks into the outdoor pool area. This is to further work to facilitate the family-friendly atmosphere throughout the day by way of monitoring consumption of alcohol so that they are able to ensure that no one is having too much. The one bedroom condos have a maximum occupancy of 4 people, the two bedrooms 6 people and the three bedroom condos up to 8 people. Each of the condo receive up to 2 parking passes and the parking spots are first come first serve. Additionally throughout the summer we have had security walking through the parking to identify the vehicle without a pass. Vehicles without a pass have a notice left of the windshield (in case their parking pass had simply been misplaced or fallen off the rear-view mirror) rather than towing them off. The closest tow yard is a 30 minute drive and the wrecker service will not simply move vehicle without being paid first. If in the event the person fails to produce a parking pass we will have the vehicle booted or towed. The one night in which the parking was harder to come by was likely a Saturday (our turn-day for the condos) and coming back to the resort at night during the summer often means that the prime parking spots have already been taken. Thanks for the feedback concerning smokers. The onsite maintenance personnel works to keep the property looking clean throughout the year. I personally hope that they clean up after themselves just as those who don't smoke, but will pass the suggestion on to the property management as your suggestion to have a designated smoking area makes good sense. • fun with the family.
  The stay at Parrot Head 2a was wonderful. The home was very nice and roomy. The resort was very nice, and our family had a wonderful time. We have three children age 5,1,and 20months. they all had a great time. We will defenently be staying again in the future.

• Purple parrot for locals and not for families!
  This place is really good at marketing and not good at reality! Locals can constantly come in and out of the development. Locals can use the bar, the pool, and listen to the band. You are charged for all drinks at the pool and you cannot bring your own drinks or food to the pool. The beach is not close by. The beach is miles away. This is a pain in the family plans for sure! I would not stay here again and families should not stay here. Just plain awful!

  Wow, this review is misleading and not at all correct. The beach is not miles away (we're on an island that is just barely one mile at the widest point from northern shore to southern shore). The resort is open the renters and seasonally open to those looking to purchase a day pass. You cannot bring alcohol out to the outdoor pool area, because of liquor license restrictions. The resort is not a good choice for people looking to drink all day by the pool, which is why we primarily attract families in search of a fun family vacation. A look at the resort's website will confirm all of this. This condo is a very nice two-story property with bamboo flooring, natural wood cabinets, corian counter tops and an LCD flat screen TV in the living room. The master bedroom has a queen bed, the guest bedroom has two twins and each bedroom has its own private bathroom. The living room has a sleeper sofa for the groups of 5 or 6 people to use and the front deck is conveniently screened-in which is a plus for the summer months. The feedback left online are unfiltered and this grossly inaccurate review is evidence. I am not sure what caused this person to leave this feedback as there is nothing constructive for me to work at remedying. Anyone staying with us should touch base with me if there is something in need of attention as I aim to provide all of our guests with a pleasant vacation experience when staying at any of the three resorts within which we manage vacation rentals.   Fist of all wanted to thank the owner for letting me stay at his unit at the short notice provided for unit 16-AU. It have got to be one of the best views of the pool site at Perple Parrot! Location is great, value is very reasonable, clean, easy check in (thanks JD) There were a few incidents that got in a way of a total relaxation. The music at night time was very loud at the bar. The washer and driver didn't really do the job (washer didn't wash clothing well, and drier burned one of the swim suits and two shirts-totally ruined). The "Pool Pass" charge was applied twice to the card, instead of a refund when passes were returned to the office. Overall stay was relaxing and pleasant!

• Perfect Getaway
  We took a family vacation - 17 people spread out over 3 condos at the Purple Parrot in July 2011. My husband & I and our teenage sons stayed at the Beach Bungalow. From the moment you walked through the doors it felt like home. Set to the back of the property in the circle was perfect for us...privacy, but still close enough to everything to enjoy all the amenities of the Purple Parrot. I've heard my sister talk for years about how much they love the laid-back atmosphere of the P.P., but once we got there we could see exactly why they don't vacation anywhere else. The Beach Bungalow is beautifully decorated, comfortable, clean and spacious. We will definitely be coming back to stay at the Purple Parrot and the Beach Bungalow. We spent most of our time playing volleyball in the sand & enjoying the pool. We loved the sounds of the Wes Loper Band at the Tiki Bar that last night. The staff at the bar were friendly, helpful and always eager to please. Food was awesome and fast!!! There's really no reason to ever leave the Purple Parrot once you get there. It has something for the entire family. The Beach Bungalow is the perfect home away from home!

• Awesome get-away
  This place was awesome. We celebrated our three year anniversary here and loved the place. The beaches were close and nice. Alot of things to do in the local area. The resort was outstanding. Loved the pools and tiki bar. The only thing I wish was different was the fact that you could not bring a drink or snack from you cottage to the pool. You were forced to buy from the tiki bar and grill. This was aggrivating when you had already bought food and had it just a few yards away. Other that that it was awesome. We will be back.

• Great atmosphere!
  My husband and I stayed in Parrot Bay 37CU in June 2011, celebrating our 30th anniversary. We had a wonderful stay! The condo was actually prettier than the pictures, very clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. (One thought though - there are a lot of steps to get up to this particular condo, so that is to be considered.) Service was fantastic! Easy check-in/check out. Also, we locked ourselves out of the condo one evening and JD Hallam was only a call away - he came immediately and let us in! Thanks JD! We have stayed in Perdido Key before, (right on the beach), and wanted to try a different area this time. We loved the pool and Tiki bar - what a treat! It was like having our own backyard party, but we didn't have to host - and could go to our quiet condo anytime! We also enjoyed the public beaches through the day (not far away, but I wouldn't walk). One day we discovered we were the only ones on the beach! It was lovely. We ate at several local restaurants and enjoyed every one. Some of them were Cosmo's, Fishermans Wharf and The Oyster Bar - all great food and locations! We will definitely be back!

• The perfect honeymoon.
  The bed here was wonderful. I want one of my own. The 2 huge TVs were super lovely, even though I normally don't care. We ended up using both DVD players too. The kitchen was fully stocked. The ice maker was very handy. We could have used a small grill, maybe that would be a good asset in the future. The decorations set the tone for the beach but I didn't feel overwhelmed by them, the place was very classy. It does need a full length mirror though. Close to beaches and eating, not far from shopping. Easy to find both the resort and the cabin. The pool! I am spoiled for future pools! It was large, clean, had a few areas in the shade, fun, plenty of seating. The staff was friendly and the was good. A liitle expensive but with large portions. The resort was clean and the front desk people were friendly. It got pretty loud late at night with the live bands which I didn't really like. The porch was wonderful and faced the trees not other cabins, meaning I could sit out there with no one watching. We came for a week for our honeymoon but we will be back with our son, he'll have a blast too!

• Rest & Relaxation
  This was my second time staying at Purple Parrot Village. We all enjoyed our stay at "No Problem". It was all clean except for the cigarette butts left in the ashtray outside. I thought that was kind of gross. We also saw a roach on the counter. It maybe because we left our food there all week. That really grossed me out. Overall, everything was excellent! They got our payment screwed up at the office, but they fixed it before we left :)

• Master bed is tooo small!!!
  If I had known that master bedroom only had a double bed, we would not have stayed in this unit. My husband is six foot five and a double is way too small.

• Amazing and wonderful
  Our stay at "Return To Me" was one of the best times we have ever had. The cottage was very clean and had all the ammenities that we needed to enjoy our stay. The decore was beautiful and was not just the typical "beachy" feel that you get in other places. The purple parrot was cozy and upbeat. We would stay here again and again and recommend it for everyone.

• Enjoyed Our Beach House!
  Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Our Beach House in the Purple Parrot resort. It was convenient to the beach and the swimming pool and tiki bar were a nice place to relax without getting in the car. A television in the bedroom would have been a plus but otherwise the condo had all the amenities of home. We'll definitely be back.

• great experience
  loved the villa! it was clean and comfortable, close to the beach and gulf shores. the only issue i had was with the pool and parking. during the day the pool is great and the tiki bar doesn't disturb you, but at night we had issues with some very drunk girls putting on a "show" in the hot tub in front of my kids. the bar staff took care of it quickly but the damage was done. so we avoided the pool at night from that point on. parking is a problem there, its like a free for all, no set spaces and no real effort on the part of security to enforce parking passes. if you go eat somewhere plan to park by the office if you get back past 8pm. i am an early riser so i noticed when i woke up at 5am every morning magically spaces are everywhere by the villa, so that tells me the spaces where taken up by people who didnt stay there.

• Nice
  Our stay at Carribean Soul was a nice one. I was especially happy with the location of Carribean Soul. It was in the back of the resort and was quiet and peaceful. We loved watching the birds in the courtyard. The condo was fairly clean, however, there were 2 big dead roaches in the kitchen when we arrived and there were also small ones in the upstairs bedroom. They did not have a curtain on one of the living room doors and I informed the office, but no one ever came to fix that. Also, if you decide to stay there...Please read the rental policy. You cannot bring any outside food or drink to the pool area because of the Tiki Bar and Grill. Our first day there, we were stopped at the gate and told that we could not bring anything in. I had a bottle of water and had to throw it away because I was not allowed to bring it in. We felt like we were constantly being watched. With that being said, overall, we had a nice week and we felt it was worth the money spent (which was way less than most condos we checked into). We would stay there again.

• Sad to be disappointed
  Have stayed multiple times in Purple Parrot in the past. This time it was sadly disappointing. There were numerous issues, but the primary ones were: - the pool area lacks the family atmosphere that it had in the past. Maybe this was due to the 4th of July weekend, but we didn't appreciate it. - the unit we stayed at was quite lacking. Canopeners didn't work, plates were not very clean, rugs were stained, toilet kept flushing on its own We'll have to consider if its worth coming back, which is a real shame b/c we always enjoyed Purple Parrot in the past.

  I am concerned with your feedback. We are always working to promote a family-friendly atmosphere at the resort. The pool deck was recently expanded to include a sandy beach area, volleyball court, thatch-roof tables and staff which will bring food and beverages out to you while you relax by the outdoor pool. As this stay was over the July 4th weekend, yes it was very busy at the resort however having a full resort was the only difference from the rest of the summer. I have since purchased a can opener for the condo. Please mention this to the office next time and we will promptly correct anything in need of attention. I have also since checked the dishes and floors which look to be in good condition, however just to be absolutely certain we had the carpets cleaned on 7/11/11. I have not found anything to be wrong with the toilets, but will continue checking to see if they are perhaps running which is a simple fix. Again, if there is ever anything in need of attention please let us know. I do not mind going out in the middle of the night to make it right for our guests. • Always a pleasant stay at the Parrot
  My wife and son stayed at Beach Mama's at the Purple Parrot during the week of July 4th. The staff was fantastic and very eager to make sure all of our needs were fulfilled. Thank you very much! As for the house, it was very cozy and relaxing. We were in the back part of the complex and the music from the live band was not loud at all. Thank you to the owners of Beach Mama's for having some beach amenities in the house. My son kept himself busy with the beach toys. We stayed in the house the majority of the time we were there. The beach access was a quick drive from the Parrot. Everything was close and convient. I could go on about the great time I had there, but if I do i'm afraid the house will be so booked that we won't be able to get a spot next year! If you are considering staying here then do it!

• Beautiful Resort and Wonderful People
  The Purple Parrot is a cute little resort with adorable villas. The pool is beautiful and the tiki bar is wonderful, the bar tenders are so sweet! 46C downstairs is a great condo, it's decorated cute, very clean, it's roomy, and it has a comfy bed. Our stay here was great and we would stay here again for sure, only the next stay we will book a condo closer to the pool. 46C isn't far, it's just so hot in June...the closer the better :) The only problem we had was that the condo was behind others and it took us a few circles around to figure out exactly where 46C was located when we arrived. The beach is literally only a 2 minute drive. We loved our stay and completely loved all of the people we met here!!

• Great House - Tiki Bar and Pool Questionable
  We loved the Hakuna Matata 23C home. It was nicely decorated and had plenty of room for our family of four. We would have loved a tv in the both rooms upstairs, but overall fantastic accommodations in the home. The staff in the rental office was friendly and helpful, albeit difficult to reach by phone the morning of our trip. I kept receiving a message to call back later and after several attempts, finally spoke to a person to arrange our late check in. The pool was not as large as it appeared to me in pictures. Of course it is hard to tell how big a pool is from pictures. We were very surprised to see a very large sign at the entrance stating "open to the public." I was not always comfortable with the "public guests" at the pool and bar and the adult atmosphere that created for my children. Many of the afternoon and evening guests appeared unclean and very intoxicated. Dreadlocks and tatoos seemed to be the common theme among patrons. I also did not like not being able to bring water or a juice box to the pool for my children. All food and drinks had to be purchased from the bar. The pool was definitely not family friendly and for that reason, we will probably not stay at this resort again.

• banana cabana extravaganza !!!
  we arrived late to our condo, we called ahead of time. the keys and passes were waiting for us. the condo was just as described, clean well furnished and comfortable. the whole complex is geared for families. the front desk was very helpful, Ryan was extremely knowledgeable and helpful,he even brought us ice to our condo( very nice young man) Johnson beach was 2 minutes away. the beach was beautiful.we will be back next year!

• week getaway
  Hi had a wonderful time staying at the Purple Parrot. The pool was really nice,but I wish they wwouldn't let the kid toss a real football around just splash soft balls should only be allowed. This is due to the fact my neighbors daughter was hit in the face with a football. Other than that it was great trip and plan on coming back in 2yrs for another week. thanks John Costello

• Our stay at Purple Parrot
  The pool area is really nice, although the people working in the bar area could have been friendlier. I brought my own water to the bar b/c I am breastfeeding and didn't want to buy any alcoholic drinks. They made me pour it out. We couldn't even bring our baby food to the pool area b/c they wanted us to buy all our food and drinks from the bar. This just made our stay so much more inconvenient.

• Awesome experience
  I absolutely loved the Purple Parrot. The service was fantastic from checking in until we left. We really enjoyed the cottage we stayed in, it was very clean and everything worked perfectly. The pool and club area were very nice. There was live music at the bar every night. I wish they could have turned up the volume a little but it is completely understandable that some guests may not have appreciated that. Fantastic experience, I would certainly go back.

• The Time of My Life
  We really enjoyed our stay. Wished we had stayed longer. Everything was great. I loved the location, but missed the beach view. I liked that everything was close by. We were close to the grocery store, the gas station, and of course the beach. It was so convenient. Like I said the only drawback was no beach view. But I will sacrifice that for a nice somewhat private area instead of the crowded beach condo. I liked that we had access to an indoor pool,hot tub, weight room, and sauna. I also liked that it was a gated community. The house we stayed in was really nice. It was like being at home,with all the convenieces of home. I highly recommend The Purple Parrot.

• Our first Florida vacation.
  The Purple Parrot was a recommended vacation spot for us. We loved our time in Florida and overall were happy with our choice of the Purple Parrot. One of our few complaints would be that the kitchen was not well stocked with everyday supplies. We were forced to wash dishes after every meal since there were not enough forks to use past one meal. There was not a collander to drain pasta/noodles. With a young family we did not eat out all the time and pasta is a staple for most of us. Also, the dust pan was broke and it made it difficult to clean up sand on a daily basis. We did have issues with the parking. The paper tags that you hang on a rearview mirror are not condusive to driving and one evening, with our pass lying on the dashboard, our van was booted. The issue was resolved but was an inconvenience. The pool and Tiki Bar were great and the time we spent in the pool was priceless.

  We were very comfortable. The condo had all the kitchen items you would need to take care of a weeks worth of meals. I Really appreciated the large amount of dishes so I didn't need to run the dish washer so often. We would definitely stay here again.

  We love our stay at the Purple Parrot! The only thing that we would change is the pool/guest requirements. One reason we chose the Purple Parrot was because of the pool, then we found out that our guests could not use it without paying. That was a bummer. The Tiki Lounge would make more money if they allowed the tenants/guests to access the pool free of charge. Jmho. The Lazy Daze condo was super! We would stay there again in a heartbeat!

• Comfortable family vacation
  Irish Isles was neat, clean and everything worked. It is well laid out and accomodated our extended family of 4 adults and 2 children with ease and comfort. In addition it handled local family for dinner and visits with equal ease. The pool facilities were great for the kids and the food at the Purple Parrot was tasty and convenient. Only complaint was late roudiness at the bar on Friday and saturday nights - Irish Isles is right behind the bar, so next year we will probably want a unit farther away. We have been coming to The Purple Parrot homes for 4 years and intend to continue.

• Very Relaxing great get away !
  This was our 2nd trip to PerdidoKey Purple Parrot. Stayed with the children 4 years ago and had such a great time went back just husband and I for a relaxing get away. The condo was comfortable, the Tiki Bar was not open 4 years ago however this time it was and was great. We had a good breakfast there one morning and drinks one evening. Plenty to do or nothing at all if you just want to relax and chill. Great place enjoyed it very much. Will return there again hopefully for a fall break this year. I did recommend to a co-worker and she is looking at going this July if available. Also took advantage of the $200 amExp gift cards from the welcome center Thanks that was a great extra.

• Fun family friendly
  Great place to stay and the location was very good - the pool is phenomenal and despite what others have said I never found the noise to be a problem even though we were pool side. Would have liked to have a more comfortable bed in the master bedroom but the rest of the furnishings were great and it had everything in the cottage that we needed. I met the person who owns the tiki bar and pool (despite what the website would have you believe, the Purple Parrot does not own the outdoor pool or the grounds around the pool)and he seems to be great to deal with and I am looking forward to seeing the improvements he is planning for next year with the lazy river and additional pool.

  Thank You or the use of the home. By far the best accomidations to date. The house was beautiful spacious and very clean. We enjoyed having a fully stocked kitchen so we could cook and save money on food. The home owners did a wonderful job on making it feel like a true home and not a vacation spot.Since we actually had our parents with us it was great to have theextra space. Music was a little loud on the weekend especially for people who are not the parting type but overall the ground and amenities were perfect for our family. I hope to return again. • Experience at Purple Parrot
  My husband and I stayed at the Purple Parrot (17ad) on June 17-20. We enjoyed the resort and loved the setup of the resort; however, when we arrived to our unit, the bathroom was not very clean. The bathtub was very dirty, luckily I travel with clorox wipes and was able to clean it. The tub was full of hair and when wiped, the bottom of the tub was black with dirt. I did report the dirty bathroom to the office the next day and was told that they would talk to the boss to see what they could do. (did not hear anything back) Also, when we went to get silverware out of the drawer in the kitchen, almost every piece we pulled out was dirty (with old food stuck on them) Overall, we loved the resort but was very diappointed in the cleanliness.

• A great experience!
  We had a great time. The only issues were that the house needed more pots,pans and dishes. The teflon fry pan was worn and not useable. The bricks on the deck at the pool became extremely hot during the day and burned our feet. We recommend that you might think about using a cool deck when you add your new pool area. We have one for our pool and it makes swimming more comfortable with the extreme heat. Just a thought. If we make it back to Pensacola, we will certainly give you a call.

• Awesome Condo!
  This condo was extremely nice. It was nicely decorated, clean, had all of the extras that you would need during a longer stay for the kitchen and it even had a nice iron and iron board. We felt very comfortable and made us feel like we were at home. The pool area and Tiki Bar was nice. The Tiki Bar had a band playing I know 3 of the 5 nights we stayed. Two were pretty good and the other one I would say was definitely aimed more for people in their 60's and 70's. The only negative thing I have to say is about the rules around the pool area. You're not allowed to bring in any drinks (water, juice, pop) (even though their website said differently and we pointed that out to them and they just smiled and said yeah I know) or any snacks of any kind. You have to buy everything from the Tiki Bar. Between them watching you like a hawk to make sure you didn't have any illegal food or drinks and making sure you had your pool bracelet on as one lady said she felt like she was on house arrest. The public beach is just a 2min. Drive down the Rd. And there are several places to shop close by for groceries. There's a cute little coffee shop close by that had a surprisingly large selection of sf syrups for my soy latte. We went to the Bama Rama one night to eat and I have to say that it was probably the most fun we had the whole time we were down there. The food and drinks are great and they have live music there I think every night. Great experience and very entertaining! The overall place is very nice, the condos are cute and the one we stayed in was very nice, but because of all the rules and feeling like your being watched constantly, we won't be back.

• Lovely
  Let me first say that The Purple Parrot is a great place to stay. Jd and the crew are great to work with, friendly, and above average for customer service. The Purple Parrot is not on the beach, but it is extrememly close. I suggest Johnson's Beach or Perdido State Park, which are just a minute or two down the road. There are also several great places to eat within a mile or two. There isn't much shopping, but who needs that when you've got the beach (Pensacola is close enough, you can drive there to shop) The Purple Parrot is a terrific value. Now my opinion of 40C. The location is great because you are steps from the pool, but far enough away that you don't get the noise (if any). I thought the kitchen was stocked ok. They could add a few items, but all in all it got the job done. My only complaint about 40C was the queen bed in the master. It was very stiff and I ended up sleeping in the kid's beds many of the nights. I would highly suggest the owners get a new mattress. Other than that, it was nice. We have stayed in several other condos at the Purple Parrot and while I might like their decor better and they might be a little better stocked in the kitchen, I do like the location of 40C the best.

• Good Property/horrible office staff/Misled and lied to
  I planned this vacation several months ago with my best friend and her family. I am a single mother traveling alone with a 5 year old and made it very clear that I wanted the condo beneath my friend seeing as how it was available which I verified not once but twice. The second time was only a few days before the trip. When I got to the office, after the girl finally accepted the fact that I was due to check in that day, I was casually told that the condo I reserved months in advance was no longer available due to repairs; and the only thing that was available was on the opposite side of complex... as far away from my traveling companions as possible, I might add. I was moved from close to the pool and parking lot and right under my friends to the far other side of the complex next to woods and a walk from the parking lot. I was also told that I didn't have a choice in the matter but could go take a look and maybe would feel better about it. So I did, cooled down a little bit, although I had a tired 5 year old after a 12 hour car ride who was crying because he found out we would not be next to the pool or close to his friends as I had been promising for the last several weeks. When I came back, another gentleman (obviously a "regular") was in the office thanking the girl for making the last minute change to which her reply was "Oh, no problem, I didn't realize they wanted to be next to the pool." He then proceeded to "put some money down on it for them" showing that it was a new reservation. I didn't think much about it assuming it was for a future date, but low & behold the 1st trek over to my friend's condo, there were guest that had moved beneath them in the condo that had been promised to me for weeks but supposedly down for repairs. It's a shame that I can not give this place a good review, but you can only imagine how such treatment made me feel. I spent too much on this vacation to be treated so poorly and will take my money elsewhere in the future.

• We had a comfortable and relaxing stay at our little cottage.
  This is my second time to stay at the Purple Parrot (I've also referred my parents). We always have a wonderful time and have been pleased with our cottage choices. The only complaints I have would be the lack of parking out front of the cottages and the fact that you cannot bring outside beverages to the pool. Its hard enough scraping money together for a vacation and then haveing to pay extra for each drink you have at the pool, therefore, we didn't spend any time at the pool. I can totally understand not bringing in glass bottles, but we would have liked to bring in can beverages...Just something to think about. Overall, we had a great trip!

  My family and I had a wonderful experience at the Purple Parrot Resort. The staff was great and the facilities were excellent. We were very happy with our condo. It was comfortable and it had everything we needed. The pool was a big hit with the kids and the resort was convenient to the beach. • The perfect location at the right price!!!
  The location was perfect! The beaches in the area are absolutly breath taking. Everything is close by, yet not too close. The resort was great, the food at the tiki bar was awesome. Seriously the best pulled pork sandwich I have ever had. I spent a lot of time researching the area and found this to be the best deal- I was not dissapointed. The area offers lots of things to do, from the Civil War forts, to the light house, to the Blue angels, to the dolphins. Can't wait to come back!

  We were very please, for the most part it was clean but some things could have been cleaner, the baseboard and the stair handrail going upstairs wees dirty. I cleaned the handrail. We loved the short drive to Johnson beach and it was nice and secluded. The kids loved the pool.

• Fabulous weekend getaway experience!
  We had a fabulous stay at SeaBrook! My fiancee and I booked the condo for a weekend getaway and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The condo was beautifully furnished and spacious. Everything was spotless! This condo could not have been located in a better area, right near the pool. The wristband pool passes made it easy to visit the pool without having to remember a passcode or bring a key. The only complaints I have about the condo are that the wireless internet would not work and the attendants at the pool were very rude and seemed to make everyone's visit to the pool unpleasant. Other than that, the condo was fabulous and the experience was wonderful!

• cleanliness and misrepresentation
  The cleanliness of the condo was not as good as the last time I stayed- carpets and rugs were dirty- and the rules brochure said we could bring water or juice boxes to the pool-we were told at the pool we could not do this- I believe if you are paying for the pool as part of the condo it should be allowed.

  Thank you for the feedback. We hold our housekeeping staf to a very high standard and it upsets me to learn that the condo was not up to your par. I have the condo scheduled for a carpet cleaning to correct any deficiency. I also appreciate the feedback concerning the pool area. The onsite bar and grill will provide water to all guests while at the pool deck so that you don't have to bring any from the condo. While at the pool, other beverages must be purchased while at the pool and cannot be brought from outside the pool/bar/grill area. This is for two reasons; one is that we are trying to provide a resort atmosphere in which you don't have to bring your own and the second is that the liquor license of the bar requires the bar personnel to be responsible for all those on the pool deck. • Greatest time ive ever had
  The condo houses where very clean, Staff on site where very helpful, Pool's & Tiki bar where very nice. The reviews about not being able to take food or drinks to the pool didn't mention you can have free water and buy one coke they give you free refills. The Tiki bar has a small restaurant that rivals some of the higher priced places to eat in the area. This is a great place to stay i felt like family Ryan & J.D. are great, The whole place is nicely kept up and clean. So if your looking for a great place to stay do not hesitate to call Purple Parrot.

• Our first time in Pensacola
  We had never been to Pensacola before. We were surprised and delighted how beautiful the area is. Our condo at the Purple Parrot was just exactly what we expected from the pictures on the website. The little village was a new type of condo experience for us. We liked the added privacy that the individual buildings provided. The weather was great and the management was pleasant and accomodating.

• Great place to stay!
  We stay at the Purple Parrot every year and loved our experience at Seaclusion. It was clean, roomy and had everything we needed. Great location, close to the pool and comfortable. We also loved the addition of the Tiki Bar Restaurant this year. It was so nice to come in from a morning at the beach and order a delicious lunch. I reccomend the "Best Burger on the Key" with sweet potato fries - yum! As always the staff was kind and courteous and it was a wonderful place to stay.

  Overall, we enjoyed the room itself. However, my son is 11 and was told that he could not speak with, or even stand close to the Tiki Bar and watch the band. This was very disappointing condsidering he is a drummer himself. No one had a problem with him making purchases from the Tiki Bar. This had been one of the main reasons that we booked this particular room, as we would normally stay in a high rise condo on the beach. If you have small children, or go to bed before 11 pm, I highly recomend that you find a room away from the pool area. Also, parking over the weekend was difficultbecause of outside traffic to the Tiki Bar. Overall, like 8 said, the room itself was extremely nice and the bed was comfortable. My son and his guest loved the loft. Due to the attitude of the Tiki Bar management, we probably will not return. My son literally cried because his feelings were so hurt by that man: )

• Perfect place for a relaxing family get away!

It has a much slower pace than Orange Beach and Gulf Shores and a lot less touristy. The resort pool was relaxing and the Tiki Bar was so convenient. If you are looking for a great restaurant when you visit, try The Oyster Bar on Perdido Key.

• Great Pool!
  We loved our stay at the Purple Parrot resort. It was our home away from home. My 1 yr old son enjoyed the pool. Having our own washer and drayer was a blessing! My only concern was that even though we said we had a baby they put us right next to the speakers for the bar/band area. Great for people who enjoy a relaxed night life just not for a family with small children. Kept the baby up till after 11pm.

• Awesome
  We had a great time! The Irish Isles house was clean, decorated, and had everything we needed. It is close to the pool and the Tiki Bar. But I would stay at any house at the Purple Parrot Resort in Perdido Key, FL! The employees (all of them, Ryan, Klancey and of course JD) were wonderful from the time I called to book to the time I checked out. Wal-Mart is super close! Gulf Shores is even closer. The beach was like 2 miles away! We can't wait to return!We had 5 kids with us of all ages (14, 12, 10, 8, & 2). All of them had a blast! So this resort is perfect for your entire family! Since I got back, several of my co-workers, my Mom, my friends, and my cousin are looking forward to staying at the Purple Parrot this summer since I bragged so much about what a great time we had :-)

• Awesome
  Daughter, daughter-in-law, 4 grandchildren and I - ages 1,4,9 and 13. We had a great time. The house was great. This is the second time my daughter and I have stayed there. Our only negative was we weren't crazy about outsiders coming and using the pool and taking up the chairs etc. Other than that we had an awesome time!

• Best condo vacation ever!
  We were absolutely thrilled with our condo! It was beautifully furnished and very spacious. The location was superb (we were as far away from the pool and the evening club noise as we could). The small cluster of homes was very cozy and picturesque. We had a wonderful view of the channel from the second upstairs bedroom, and the balcony and front porch were perfect for mornings and evenings. We drove to the beaches, although the walk wouldn't have been that far. The pool was spectacular and so much fun! There is an awesome exercise facility, although we did not use it, and a great indoor pool and whirlpool as well. The location is the very best, close to everything, and only about 15 minutes from Wal Mart where we could stock up on groceries and anything we needed. Beware of snakes! We came across a snake on the small footbridge between the parking space and our condo, and although we looked at it and took pictures of it, we later discovered it was a venomous water moccasin! They are seen from time to time on the property. We found the restaurants on the Key a bit pricey, but wonderful. Our favorite was Lambert's Cafe in Foley, AL, a mere 30 min drive. Breakfast at Waffle House is a must (one just across the bridge, or our favorite, right on the alabama state line on Perdido). The beaches are pristine, and be on the lookout for the most fabulous dolphin display you can imagine! Lots of them, and at lots of different times. Definitely try to go see the Blue angels practice. It's Tues and Wed mornings, and it's free, as well as the museum which is worth the trip (15 minutes). There's also a cool lighthouse by the base. This condo will be forever remembered as one of our very favorite vacations! If we ever return to Pensacola, we will definitely stay there!

  This was one of our best vacations! The house was beautiful and had many extras. The Purple Parrot Tiki Bar was some of the best food that we had on our trip. The kids were amazed by the beautiful pool. We will most definitley come her again!

• Fantastic condo!!
  We stayed at Junkanoo 14B for one week at the end of May and we loved the condo. Very nicely decorated. It also had one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept on. The second day we were there we noticed that the air conditioner had frozen up and at 7:15pm we called J.D. to ask him if he could get someone out the next morning. J.D. called the air conditioner man and he was out there (no joke) in 10 minutes. He repaired the unit that night and we were so thankful. We hope to return in September.

• Sufficient/Not Great
  The house had all of the amenities advertised and was sufficient. It is in an excellent location, near the office, the outdoor pool and the indoor pool. Negatives: -The decor needs updating. Probably needs new carpet and a general freshening up, maybe some new fixtures. -Several of the outlets in the upstairs bedrooms did not work. On one, one plug-in worked and not the other. -The door to the bedroom with the twin beds locked, but did not close. Makes changing clothes in mixed company challenging. Also, the bathroom in that bedroom did not close. I consider having a bedroom and bathroom door that closes and locks mandatory. That should be taken care of before anyone else stays there. Despite those few points, we had an excellent stay at Purple Parrot. It is our favorite beach destination and we've been vacationing there for going on 10 years I guess (with some years skipped due to hurricanes and resulting damage). This particular unit is the worst I've stayed at, but considering the stellar quality of those I've stayed at before, that's not necessarily a really bad thing. Rating for the actual house is a 3, but it needs very minimal and inexpensive improvements to get to a 4. To be a 5 it would need new carpet and other decor updates. • What a relief!

• Relaxed and Comfortable
  My husband and I stayed in "Island Paradise" for 5 nights. It was perfect for what we wanted. We were able to cook brunch in the condo before heading to the beach everyday. The bed was very comfortable, I slept so well every night, which is very unusual for me. It was quiet except for the upstairs neighbors had a small dog that barked occasionally. I noticed that the security guard was constantly walking the property so that was nice. The condo was convenient to everything. Clancy in the office was great, she was very helpful, we appreciated her!! Over all, our stay was excellent. I have already told several people about Purple Parrot and we intend to go back next year and bring our family. My only thing is don't forget to bring extra toilet paper. we had less than 1/2 roll when we got there, so glad I brought some. And bring laundry detergent if you plan on washing clothes, there is none in the room. Another thing, we didn't have beach voucher like soem others did, so if you are interested, you may want to ask in the office.I'm not sure they still do it.

• Good Stay
  The purple parrot is a great place to stay. although it is not on the beach, it is just a short drive. I did think the pool was going to be a little larger by looking at the pictures, but it was still a good size. there was a band that played every night which was something fun to do after going to the beach all day. the facility was really clean and quiet. one thing that i did not like was the amount of the cleaning fee, especially since we were asked to pick up everything before we left. overall, i would definetely stay here again... it was a good price and the experience was great!

• Comfortable place to stay during Hangout Music Festival
  This place was a welcome respite from our exhausting (but fun) time at the Hangout Music Festival in Gulf Shores. Impeccably clean, effective air-conditioning, nice bathrooms and comfortable beds. We only visited the pool once but it was a great time there. You can bring your choice of adult beverage into the pool as long as it is in a plastic cup. I felt that my possessions were secure during the entire stay. Very short drive to the beach (<5 minutes). Would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again. I imagine that most of the cottages in the resort are as high in quality.

• Paradise!!
  This was by far the best vacation we ever had. Lazy Daze was super clean and comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed. Master bed was incredibly comfy and the loft bedroom offered an adventureous experience to my 11 year old son. This condo had what we saw to be the best view of the entire complex and the entertainment was most enjoyable at the tiki bar. The pool was bragworthy and we cannot wait to return asap. Please keep the prices as is and we will return again and again!

• A great get-away!
  We really enjoyed our time at the Purple Parrot Resort and specifically the Hakuna Matada beach house. It was very nice and clean and very comfortable. We will definitely be coming back again! • Irish Isles is a beautiful vacation home...
  We throughly enjoyed this particular rental. It had everything we needed with lots of space. It is decorated beautifully. Our only complaint is the "rules" of the "Public" pool. The beautful pool you see on the website is not used exclusively for the "Resort" as you would think when you pay to stay at a "Resort". It is opened to the public and you are not allowed to take anything, coke, water, sandwich, absolutely nothing, because of the "Tiki Bar" that is attached to the pool and under different managment with we thought was absolutely ridiculous. By Saturday we found it hard to even get a chair by the pool because the general public is allowed to come in and buy a pass. No special treatment is given to guests who pay close to $1,000 to stay at the "Resort". This may be a deal breaker in our future plans to return to the Purple Parrot. Again, the unit itself is lovely and there are no complaints about the unit or the service received during the check-in process, we just do not agree with the pool rules and policies.

• Awesome!!!
  Our trip was short. Just for the weekend. check-in was quick, and the staff was super nice!!! The Sandcastle was very nice, and accommodated all of our needs!!! There was a band that played every night in the pool area. What fun!! We did go over and have a drink or two, but returned to dance on our covered porch!! Ha!! Will definitely return!!! Fyi The beach is a short 5 min drive, and gorgeous!! Loved our short time there!!

• Never again!
  Shoddy construction, creepy tattoo-covered pool attendants (talking about suing doctors and getting rich, took over the shaded table we had reserved for our little kids, etc.), poor instructions when checking in (where on earth do you put the garbage--you wander around by yourself until you figure it out), tons of termites (got covered by new kings and queens while walking outside for 3 min one night), several doors (including one bedroom!) uncloseable due to the warped frames or amazingly uneven floors, scary unsupported cantilevered second-floor decks, almost unlockable second floor door to porch (great with little kids, had to shift furniture to keep them in the house for their safety). The FL side of Perdido Key is half-empty and has a run-down feel. As soon as you cross into alabama, things are so much better kept, economically active, etc. Next time, I'd stay in Orange Beach, AL, instead. And the rate, with fees (watch out when you book, the price really pops up when you get to final checkout) that are 50% higher than for the same week in a vastly superior, termite-free home in Myrtle Beach where we have stayed. Kitchen was functional as well as w/d, though the setup is awkward. The Tiki bar operators at lunchtime are very friendly and kind. They should have designed this place instead of whoever did. The pool, ignoring the attendants, is a really fun one for kids and in great shape. These two things, however, in no way compensate for the other problems.

  Excellent value and nice experience. Spotless one bedroom. Nice kitchen. Great fish at Joe Tatti's in Pensacola (a must). Clean up of the beach surprizingly effective. Really liked Oyster Bar in Orange Beach, Cosmo's, Big Fish, Vilagio.s and other top rated restaurants on tripadvisor. Aviation museum is first class. Rating ***1/2. (This area is not a tornado area because the Key is so close to the water.) This area is quiet, because it is been hit economically be the big real estate meltdown - just fine for us. It deserves your support. Suggest March as the best month for weather and activity.

• Good place at a decent price
  The staff was very friendly. We arrived late and they arranged to hide the key and let us check-in the next day. We loved the lay-out of the unit. There were signs of wear and damage from previous tenants but it was otherwise clean and comfortable. The complex has lots of nice amenities which we wish we had more time to take advantage of. There was live music by the pool Friday and Saturday night, which could be a plus or a minus. That is, fun to hang out and listen to, but annoying if you want to go to bed early. The biggest down-side is how far the complex is away from the city (~30min) and quality beaches (~45min). All-in-all a decent experience.

  We loved our room by the pool, what we enjoyed most was sitting on the deck. Our daughter loved having her own loft with a ladder to climb up! it was a very roomy place for the price. it's just a short drive to the public access to the beach. • Loved the condo, disliked the noise.
  We have stayed in this condo before and love it. It is beautiful, comfortable and has everything you need. The music Friday and Saturday nights was very loud and noisy until by midnight. The people above us were very noisy coming in at 2:00 each morning. We did not like the fact that pool passes have been sold to others than those who stay at Purple Parrot. We are concerned about bringing our grandsons back this summer.

• Great family location at the Purple Parrot

We had plenty of room and liked having the screened in porch. We are looking into buying at the Purple Parrot. We like that these condos are not the typical high rise type condos. I would highly recommend the Purple Parrot to anyone.

• Vacation Close to Home -
  We enjoyed our weekend getaway at the Purple Parrot Resort, only an hour from our home in Pace, FL. Tropical Therapy was clean and decorated nicely. Wi-Fi was available, definitely a plus. The photo of the view was a bit misleading as you are looking out at the highway when sitting on the porch. When renting a top floor keep in mind that the steps are step so if you have issues with your legs rent a bottom floor or a two bedroom and get the whole unit. We also didn't realize that you do not necessarily park directly at your condo - depends on the location of your rental - but Tropical Therapy was just a short walk from the parking lot. The location of the Purple Parrot is wonderful if you are interested in spending time at Johnson's Beach. We loved it. We didn't use the beautiful pool however did spend the evening at the Tiki Bar the first night. Nice to be able to walk home in a few minutes. The music was a bit too loud - be careful which unit you rent if the late music would bother you. This was not a problem while staying at Tropical Therapy. The young lady at check-in was wonderful and welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay and plan to stay at this resort in the future.

• Great experience
  We enjoyed our stay at the Purple Parrot. We stayed in Slow Mo and were very pleased with the condo. It was spotlessly clean and spacious enough for our family of 4. The location was great-just steps from the pool-but far enough away that the band at the Tiki Bar (Th-Sat) at night was not a problem. Only 2 chairs for the kitchen table-would have been nice to have 4 chairs so we all could have sat at the table for meals. King bed in bedroom was very comfortable, pull out was o.k. for kids but mattress should probably be replaced(dips in middle). Kids loved the big screen T.V.s. National Seashore is minutes away-don't miss it, the gulf was beautiful and the kids loved walking along the beach on the intercostal collecting hermit crabs. We would definitely stay here again!

• Should have been a great vacation if it weren't for the bar staf
  We were very excited to try Perdido this year. It seemed like a friendly and fun place to bring the kids and friends. Well this is the first place I've been to that has tables in the pool area, but forbids you to bring drinks or even food. The bar staff said that they would be fined $10,000 if we brought as much as a snack there. What a crock of S#*T. Like they would loose their liquor liscense over some peanut butter crackers. The room was nice, pool was clean, but the bar staff made sure we won't be back.

• Comfortable and Cute
  We stayed at the Purple Parrot for three nights. The condo was very comfortable and the resort very nice and clean. What we did not like was that the pool was adjacent to a bar ( pool and bar are not owned by the Purple Parrot), the pool was not family friendly because of the bar atmosphere. The bar is open to the public and the pool is the walk thru to the bar. One cannot bring any beverage to the pool area including a bottle of water!!!

• Absolutely amazing

• Peachy Keen was peachy keen!
  Our family was moved to Peachy Keen when the air-conditioning needed to be repaired in another unit. We all liked Peachy Keen even better than our original choice. We enjoyed being on the main level more than we thought that we would, and the front screened porch was fabulous! Peachy Keen was bright, clean, and comfortable. The owners had left some very nice notes in the unit (and the Coastal Living magazines were a treat to read). This Peachy Keen unit was in perfect condition and we enjoyed staying there for our long vacation weekend. (The Tiki Bar area was not our "thing". We prefer a quieter lifestyle; however, this unit was located well away from the pool area so this was not an issue for us.) Someday we would love to return to Peachy Keen for a longer stay. Our family of four enjoyed a five day weekend in Perdido Key that mainly included "beach time" during the day and board games, movies, and relaxation in the evenings. We appreciated staying in a very nice place that felt like a true beach home.

  My husband and I stayed in Perdido Breeze for a long weekend and it was wonderful. The first thing and the most important for me, is how clean everything was...the check-in at 4pm is fine as long as you find everything like that. There were a couple of things in the apartment that weren't working too well but it wasn't important, the place is perfect for vacation and we couldn't be happier about the whole experience. The beach is really really close and we just can't wait to be back. Thank you !!

• Relaxing Vacation at "Return to Me"
  We came to the area to vacation and house hunt for our move in June. We stayed here for 6 days in april. It was a 2 bdr with one queen, 2 twin beds and a pull out couch bed which we didn't use. It was so nice to have a place that felt like you were right at home and whatever you needed was right there. It is located in the back which is next to the indoor pool and office. It is not right next to the outdoor pool outside which I believe is a good thing since it gets pretty loud over there in the evening. The home is very nicely decorated. Staff were very nice and accommodating since we had a late arrival and early departure. You see the security out walking around which was nice to know they were watching over us. Thank you for making our vacation comfortable and wonderful. I would highly recommend "Return to Me" it has everything you need plus more. The owners have thought of everything you would possibly need. You will love Purple Parrot Village Resort. It is minutes from many beaches.

• We had an excellent experience at the Purple Parrot
  We stayed at the Purple Parrot resort for Spring Break this year (April 2011). We have told our family and friends about what a wonderful stay we had. We enjoyed the beautiful pools/hot tubs both indoor and out. In addition, we found it to be conveniently located so that we were able to take many day trips, including visiting the Gulf Islands National Seashore, the Pensacola Naval air Station, Fort Pickens in Pensacola, and Big Lagoon State Rec. Area. We found the condo. to be clean and spacious and the people to be so friendly and kind.We would definitely go back!

• Pleasantly surprised!

I was visiting my son in Navy school (which he will be leaving there in couple weeks) and have no reason to come back to this area...but if I received a discount, I would diffiently come back. • Long weekend at the beach
  Our family spent a long Easter weekend at Perdido Key and had a wonderful weekend! Our condo was in a nice location near the beach. We were very impressed with the cleanliness and comfort of our "home away from home". Clancy was very helpful when we arrived in Perdido Key! The beach was a very short drive from our condo and we truly enjoyed the area. The tiki bar was not for our family during the evening hours but that was fairly easy to avoid. Overall, we had a great vacation and enjoyed our long weekend!

• can't wait to come back
  we frequent the Pensacola/Orange Beach area almost annually and typically stay in a hotel. We found our stay at the purple parrot a very nice alternative to hotel stays and was much more comfortable. Our boys could spread out and enjoyed their stay and play more than they could have in a hotel

  We love the Purple Parrot and the amenities it has to offer. This time, however, our stay was not pleasant because of the uncomfortable beds. We were more than happy to check out and into a hotel with better beds. We have stayed at other homes in Purple Parrot and they have been a dream. This one, not so much. That is the only negative of this house. Everything else was great.

• It was a short stay so the inconveniences weren't a big problem.
  It was difficult to find anyone in the office, my phone call wasn't returned when I had a question (left voicemail). It is an inconvenience to only have one kitchen garbage bag. It would be a good idea to leave at least one extra in the can. The smoke detector needed a new battery, so we had to buy a 9 volt to keep it from beeping. I guess we could've unhooked it, but doesn't that defeat the purpose? I did appreciate how clean the house was, very nice. This was the 3rd time I've stayed at the Purple Parrot and the customer service was lacking this time.

• Needless worry
  Since we were renting a place for six weeks site unseen we thought it could be risky. It was a needless worry. Unit 13ad was sparkly clean, great location. It was close to the Tiki bar and music which I enjoyed and it was not too loud in our unit. The indoor pools , hottubs ,fitness center and Tiki bar were very handy. The staff! We cannot say enough good things about JD and his staff. They are a most important asset to the Purple Parrot. We liked the fact the resort guests were of a variety of ages. We have gone somewhere different in the South every March and some of april to get away from the harsh Minnesota weather and usually ended up in a over 55 place. This is so much nicer to be able to watch young families enjoy a vacation. We are also amazaed at how quiet it is in the late evening. The grounds are kept up constantly. All in all a very pleasant experience. I would like to be back when we could have some friends join us. I will be attempting to do market it the Purple Parrot back home.

• Great time
  I stayed at Purple Parrot with my girlfriends to celebrate my 50th. The condo was very clean ...the only thing we had a problem with was how light the water pressure was in the shower.Everything was great ...we had a blast and plan on doing it again.

• A Refreshing Visit
  Our overall experience was very pleasant. Each individual helped to contribute to a great getaway. We felt safe a secure there. The beach was not too far away, and was clean. The only bother, and it wass not much of an issue for us, was the sound of some early risers in the attic: I presume it was likely squirrels. The a/C air intake was fairly dusty, which stirred up some allergies for a couple of the kids, but everything else was wonderful. I love to cook and found everything I needed to make some great meals. Appreciated the ease of getting in and out without great hassal. Thanks for a welcoming environment and a comfortable sercure place as a retreat.

• Purple Parrott Is The Best
  This was our 3rd winter at Purple Parrot and it is as"homey" as you can get.The management is great.No stones are left unturned to make you comfortable.It was our first winter in 41C and we loved the cul de sac.Quiet and safe with wonderful neighbors who look out for each other.The condo is furnished with comfort in mind and we loved the 4 and a half months that we spent there.Looking forward to another winter there.

• Outstanding
  The Tropical Therapy Unit was absolutely wonderful. It was spotless, on the edge of the property so away from the hustle and bustle of the pool and bar, which was nice. We rarely saw anyone else, though I know the resort was full at the time. The unit had everything we needed & some things that were nice to have, such as a spray bottle and starch with the iron and ironing board. We have stayed many places and this is the only place that had very nice furnishings, flatware, tableware, etc. Even a blender. The only thing I disliked was access to the loft was via "attic stairs". I had my smallest child sleep on the couch while the older one was allowed to climb the "stairs". Jd and Clancy and other property personnel were great and met any need that arose. An overall splendid vacation and we will definitely be back. After a storm, there were fully intact sand dollars on the beach, what a great find. But . . . there were also tar balls, but before the storm there was no evidence of tar, so it had to be the storm. Otherwise the beach was great as well, never been to the gulf side before. Can't wait to go back, wished we would've stayed two weeks instead of one. Thanks Purple Parrot for a lovely experience.

• Awesome
  We had a fabulous time at the resort this past weekend. The staff was extremely down to earth and friendly. Our condo was clean and beautiful. The kids loved the pool area and was a great place for adults that wanted to relax while kids were swimming. I will definatley return in the future.

• More than I expected!
  Having an entire buidling to yourself is so much better than a single room in comparison to the normal hotel chains. The full size kitchen and living rooms were wonderful. Being able to close the bedroom doors that separated the various rooms was also a huge plus. The staff was extremely polite and the location was only 5 minutes from the Beach! We are already planning our next visit and plan on taking our boys this time. The Pool was fantastic and the Bands that played were also very good. I have already told a few other couples about the rooms and the price, so we are trying to plan a couples retreat as well. One trip to the Purple Parrot and you will not want to stay at another "normal" hotel again :-)

• Happy to stay...Sad to leave
  We had a great stay in this house! The house pictured on the website was exactly what it looked like when we arrived there. Our children made great use of the indoor pool and the outdoor pool. My husband enjoyed the hot tub and the Tiki Bar! The kitchen was fully equipped toaster, blender, nice stove and oven, microwave and many dishes. Very handy having a washer and dryer. My only negative comments would be that the carpet on the stairs going upstairs to the bedrooms and the carpet upstairs needs to be replaced a lot of wear and tear. The bedding and pillows need to be replaced in the master bedroom. We are hoping to come back next year for two weeks and hoping to bring my sister and her family and my two brothers and their families. I would recommend Purple Parrot to others. Important: The day we left, we went to drop off our key to the house at the office the instructions on the drop box said we were to leave our bracelet passes or we would be charged $10.00 for each bracelet, this is something we were never informed of so would suggest renters be more informed of this. We had to unpack the car at that very moment as everyone had packed them to take them home as souveniers.

• Fun!
  We had a great time, the condo was very nice. Our son and family live there and it was a perfect place to stay and enjoy the grandkids...Love the outdoor pool and the food at the Tiki Bar was really good! Hope to visit again soon!

• Acceptable
  The house was great but we found small bugs upstairs in the carpet that bit up my daughter and me. My other son had some bites too. The girl in the office ended up moving us to another house but that house did not have a TV in the master bedroom, we couldn't get the DVD player to work and the tile on the main floor needed to be redone as the grout was coming out. The first house was the best house by far and had a great location near the pool, office and Tiki bar. They were going to spray it again for the bugs but I would recommend they tile the whole house to prevent this from happening again.

• Spring Break Getaway
  We just returned from the Purple Parrot Island Isle 5B. This was a wonderful vacation. 5B was comfortable and clean...we truly couldn't have asked for more! Having our own washer/dryer, kitchen, bathrooms and Tv's felt like home! The resort was perfect as well, my 2 kids really enjoyed the indoor and outdoor pools! All the houses in the villa are very cute and warming. The beaches were secluded and it felt like we were the only vacationers there. My kids enjoyed looking for shells and walking the beach! White sand everywhere you looked! My only complaint is the people they allow to visit the pool on the weekends that aren't staying at the resort, little sketchy. Also there wasn't enough hot water for all 8 people to shower, can't have it all though :) These complaints did not affect our vacation. We plan to make the Purple Parrot our annual Spring Break spot and we can't wait to come back next year!

• Relaxin' at The Terrace
  This is our third year at The Parrot. Each time we have stayed in a different home. Toucan Terrace is an upper level home that has a great screened in front porch. Our mornings were spent enjoying the view, sun and listening to the birds in the wetlands near us. The service here is excellent. If there is a need, J.D. makes sure that need is taken care of that day. The Toucan Terrace was immaculate with furnishings that were up to date and very comfortable. It is also within a few steps to the pool and the indoor pool but still gives one their privacy. Johnson Beach is just a very short drive from The Parrot and provides one with pristine sugar sand and turquoise water. Staying at the Toucan Terrace felt like we were at home.

• It was a great vacation!
  We really enjoyed ourselves! The accommodations and staff couldn't have been better. The condo was very nice! Whenever we had a question or needed something, the staff was great. We really enjoyed being able to ride our bikes down to the seashore. The pools are great. The only thing we had a problem with was the busy road in front of the resort, but we managed.

• The best family vacation- hands down!
  My husband & I brought our 2 small kids & our sister-in-law with us for spring break vacation & to visit my brother who's in the Marines at Correy Station. This 2 bedroom was more than enough room and privacy for all of us & was still close enough to the base for daily trips. • Fantastic and very comfortable stay!
  The resort as a whole was beautiful. Shopping for necessities was just minutes away, as was the beach, and many other areas to explore. The condo was next to the Tiki Bar and pool, where we were able to enjoy listening to the live entertainment. The condo was clean and stocked well. Just the perfect amount of furnishings and decor. Only problem was no instructions for getting hooked to the free internet. We went at a time when perhaps it was a bit more peaceful, before spring break, so it was perfect!

• Pretty good
  Adequate accommodations. Some problems with things not working, like TV remotes, DVD player, light bulbs missing or burnt out. Unit was a little worn.

  Thanks for the good feedback. I checked the remotes and we did need to replace batteries in one of them. Sorry about the inconvenience. The DVD players seemed to work fine after changing the TV input to video. The housekeeping went through the unit and, of the 5 lamps in this two story condo, found two which needed a new bulb. We keep extras in the unit above the stove for emergencies. I apologize that they were not caught during the previous cleaning as they likely did not think to try and turn them on during the daylight hours. I have added this to their checklist to help prevent it in the future. I trust that since it was not mentioned, aside from a couple light bulbs and batteries, that you enjoyed your time at the resort and in Perdido Key. • Enjoyed our vacation
  Yosanmine was a great place to stay. Although we loved the proximity to the pool, being right next to the tiki bar was sometimes annoying because of the people going in and out and the bands playing well into the night. We are pretty easy going people and do not have kids, so we did not let it bother us too much, though I could see someone with kids having a harder time with the noise around bedtime. It got pretty rowdy on St. Patrick's Day. The pool could also be managed better for unattended children in the hot tub and pool. Being so close to it, we noticed this on several occasions. Other than that, we love the Purple Parrot and Yosanmine is a lovely retreat.

• Perdido Key is gorgeous!
  The location of the condo was okay, but would have preferred something on the beach. The pool & cabana bar had a fun atmosphere. The condo itself was pretty basic and not a whole lot of extra fluff. We would have liked to see some upgraded items such as a TV & a DVD player would have been nice.

• Great location, value
  2010 we drove down from Minnesota and stayed one week. This year, 2011, we stayed over five weeks in a beautiful two bedroom unit. These units are individual vacation homes, a wonderful change from the high rise condos on the beaches. This is an excellent value for the money. Our unit, 32C backs up against a nature preserve, actually a National Park. The sunrises were beautiful. Only three blocks away from the beach, it's so quiet you can still hear the pounding surf. Grocery shopping at Publix and the fresh seafood market are about a mile away and there are great restaurants nearby. The management, JD and Clancy are wonderful to work with, taking care of any issues. Our place was spotless and beautifully decorated. The indoor heated pool and hot tub are welcome on chilly days. There are plenty of activities in Pensacola and Mobile aL along with several Florida State Parks nearby. The beaches were pristine. A wonderful break from Minnesota winters! Thank you!

• Loved it!
  This was my second stay at The Purple Parrot. I also stayed in January. That experience was not quite as nice as the one in February, due to the accomodations. My stay in February was superb! I stayed in 26C, a one bedroom villa, which was just adorable! Clancey is wonderful and was on both occasions. She was very helpful with area restaurants, shopping, etc. If I had a problem, she was on it immediately. I would definitely stay there again, because of her, and as long as I had a nice place like 26C. My first one was just not quite as nicely furnished, and the furniture was older, and the carpet was stained. 26 was absolutely wonderful!!! I loved it and I loved Clancey!

• Everything like home for a perfect stay!
  The house had everything and more to have a wonderfule vacation without having to worry about anything. The decor was tasteful and the kitchen had everything necessary to make meals. We ate at the pool restaurant and the food was good. We swam in the heated indoor pool because the it was a little chilly to swim in the outdoor pool. The beach was just minutes away and great restaurants across the street. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a laid back Florida vacation.

• Perfect Paradise
  Excellent everything! When I thought about the value of this extremely clean, fully loaded home, versus a cookie cutter hotel room, I'll see you back at the Purple Parrot every year! We loved it! The only downside is the steep stairs, so beware if you are traveling with a handicapped person like us. They'll have to sleep downstairs.

• "And at last - disappointing"...
  Spartan - at best. The furniture was worn and stained. The front porch had a corner that appeared to be rotting away and everyone was careful to avoid it. (On the right hand side of the porch as you approach the front door). We had to go to the store and buy toilet paper as there was a very little left on one roll with no replacement. We also purchased a roll of decent paper towels as those furnished, along with the toilet paper, appeared to have been the lowest possible quality available in america. The towels, and face cloths, were the poorest quality I have ever seen outside a third world country without the benefit of indoor plumbing. We have stayed in some wonderful units over the years in the Purple Parrot, bringing our friends and family members in from around the country over various holidays - but - Never have we experienced a unit so out of keeping with previous experiences.

• delicious...stayed for the month in 11B
  This was our first time in Florida, and we took the month of December to stay at the Purple Parriot to wait for our grand-baby to be born. Our son and his wife came out to meet their new nephew and stayed with us for a few days in 11B. We were all very comfortable in our Purple Parriot home. 11B was absolutely wonderful and very very clean and had everything we needed in the kitchen for cooking, dishes, and towels for the bathroom. The only thing we would have liked is a BBQ grill...from California we like to grill ") About the friendly Tiki Bar... Marcello and Dannie made the Tiki bar like the show "Cheers"...where everyone knows your name. ") Also enjoyed the live music. Looking forward to visiting our grandson and staying at 11B

• Fantastic condo!
  Junkanoo 14B is beautifully decorated, large and comfortable. The management staff are terrific and we had all our needs met. I liked the beautiful outdoor pool though the time of year wasn't good for outdoor pool use. Our kids loved the indoor pool. The location is great but understand this is not right on the beach. The beach is just a short drive. There is a bar and grill right on the property and I would think spring and summer are wonderful there. We will definitely return. The value is terrific for the price. Thank you!

  The Slo Mo rental was exceptional. It was warm, welcoming and tastefully appointed. We would love to rent it once again. Unfortunately for us, it is booked for the next 3 months. You are also asking for a 6 night minimum which is just a little too long for our needs. We will try and find another condo at Purple Parrot, as we do want to return.

• Relaxing and quiet rental
  Had the place almost to ourselves; matter of fact we saw more raccoons than other condo occupants. We did see other vehicles so we knew there were people around. We enjoyed it that way though for this time of year and were able to maximize our visit with our son, who lives several miles away. The kitchen in the unit was one of the best stocked with utensils that we have seen in our stays at many other rentals and time-shares.

• cant stay at a better place for the money
  the staff is great and very helpful. I arrived late on a sunday night and they were able to accommodate me, and checking in was a breeze. I have gone to the perdido key area for vacation for 12 years now and compared to the area the price is a bargain and not very far from the beach.

• Great value and comfort, but can be noisy
  We stayed here with three adults and four children and there was plenty of room for everyone. It was close enough to walk to the beach, although it was along a busy road with no sidewalks, so I suggest driving. Everything in the condo was in good shape and we found everything we needed. My only complaint would be the noise from the Tiki Bar when there are bands playing - makes it difficult with the kids' bedtimes. Otherwise, I would recommend it!

• Great time had by all!!
  We met our children and grandchildren here for a long weekend. Had a very pleasant stay. Condo lacking in some amenities we were used to in other places we had stayed; however, very comfortable and convenient. The noise from the Tiki Bar at night was a little disturbing, especially with little ones. Now that we know the layout, we would request a unit farther away from the pool. All in all, we had a most enjoyable time and would definitely come back if in the area again.

• Good Value
  The condo was perfect for two. Very comfortable and we liked the location. Over all the condo was clean with the exception of the shower. We had to buy some cleanser and scrub the shower before we could use it. There were a few things we would have liked to have in the kitchen (pizza pan). Also we had trouble picking up the wi-fi signals even though there was a modem in the condo.

The condos all have cable modems, but not all have wireless routers. This condo does not have a wireless router, which explains the difficulty in connecting to other networks. In the condos which do not have wireless routers guests may simply plug the provided ethernet cord into their laptop to have a wired connection to the internet. • Good vacation
  Dj went out of his way to open the unit for us on Thnaksgiving Day. The unit was very neat and enjoyed the stay. One thing was the bar. It played until 11:oo each night. We were ready to settle down at 10 yet the music was too loud. Need to let renters know about the music and night concerts.

• Perfect family accommodations.

• Clean and spacious.
  We really enjoyed our stay. The only complaint would be the parking for this unit. Parking is not right in front of this unit so we had to park in front of other units. It was only a problem when the other units were rented.

• Pensacola air Show
  We loved our condo. It was so clean, comfy, cozy and just all-around a cool place to stay. We often rent homes when we travel and this one probably ranks the highest of all. Screened porch was great. Everything necessary in the kitchen. Very nice living room and comfortable bedrooms. We didn't get to visit the Tiki Bar but enjoyed the live music from the porch. Next time, we'll definitely wander over. Highly recommend the Purple Parrot and specifically Dues Paid.

• much better than the pictures
  The colorful decor had me apprehensive at first, but absolutely loved this condo and hated to leave. however, a word to the wise, stay on the path and do not take the short cut across the sand or you will be sweeping the floors (haha). we really enjoyed the large LCD tv in the living room. the is possibly my favorite condo at the purple parrot.

• A great escape
  My husband and I came down over his 4 day pass from Camp Shelby. We had an amazing trip. The condo was very homey. We enjoyed every second we spent there. We really enjoyed having a full kitchen to be able to cook our own meals instead of going out all the time. We also loved how close everything was. We were able to go site seeing, shopping, and spend time on the beach all within a few miles.

• great stay
  The condo was great. Three bedrooms and 2 and 1/2 baths was wonderful. It needs more kitchen supplies but for a group of 6 friends it was perfect. The location was not the best. A car was needed and the cab rise to and from the airport was expensive.

• A wonderful get away.
  The Sea Robin was great and very comfortable. In October the water was chilly but the indoor pool was great and we swam till it closed. The staff was very friendly and even helped us out finding a boat rental. Also the Tiki bar played live music at night which was nice to listen on the porch. The music also stopped at a decent time. This place is excellent for the family.

• Worth Every Penny
  We absolutely loved our stay at Serenity Now. We are planning on going back in the near future and more with or without our kids. My husband actually is considering a condo purchase. We also are looking forward to seeing all the new additions that are coming to the Purple Parrot Village Resort. The fact that we were within walking distance to the beach and restaurants was great. The only things that needed attention in this particular condo were...the kitchen faucet needed tightened, and they should consider putting something on the tub ledge because the water from the shower ran onto the floor no matter how you put the curtain. These are definitely minor things. We did have one cockroach visit us while there, I freaked, but my husband being in the Military said it was not one that infests houses it was just a bug from outside...that I can handle! All in all we will be going back and loved our stay! Final note...the staff was so nice and helpful!

• Truely amazing family spot to stay!
  Amazing. Arrived late, had checkin info emailed, with directions. Very friendly staff, accomodations for my spouse and 6 and 8 year old was perfect. We swam inside, we swam outside, we walked to the beach, and had a truely amazing mini-vacation. We will stay there again if there is ever a chance!

• Poolside Fun
  We stayed in Calypso Cabana right by the pool. We had a super time. We love the pool! Our condo was very nice--the decor was upbeat and it had everything that we needed to have an excellent vacation. It has granite counters, stainless appliances, leather couch, large tv--very nice ambience. We have stayed at the Purple Parrot 3 times now and I highly recommend it. We're going to come for a month next year. Unfortunately, when we're coming, Calypso Cabana is booked. Otherwise, we would definitely request it again.

• It was great!

• Wedding Bliss
  The Purple Parrot is a fantastic, fun, family friendly place that I would recommend to any and everyone I know! The property manager, JD, was phenominal and so was the woman who did our check-in, Leah. The Tiki Bar staff made my wedding reception absolutely perfect! They prepared good food for us at a great price! My only complaint is that the master bedroom faces the sun in the morning and there is a beautiful diamond shaped window without a window treatment on it, so I was up at the crack of dawn, but that just meant I got more time to enjoy the sights!   Thanks for the feedback. The live music stops by 11pm on the weekend and much earlier during the week. All of our poolside condos will likely hear the music as the Tiki Bar is poolside as well. The pools are for the resort guests and owners. Many owners live local and use the pool, especially during the the later part of the year when the resort slows down a bit. As the condos are two stories you will have to keep the lower level cool if you want the upper level cool as well. • We really enjoyed our stay in the Sea Robin!
  I did alot of research before making reservations for this beach trip. Although I really liked the idea of being able to see the beach from our condo, we are not high rise condominium kind of people. So the Purple Parrot was an excellent alternative for us! It truly was not a hazzle to drive to the beach the days that we went and our kids really enjoyed the awesome pool at the complex. We visited several of the park beaches in the area. The whole family, especially our two and four year old children enjoyed taking a stroll down the fishing pier at Orange Beach. The comfortable setting of this house was great for my non-waterloving husband to be able to relax and enjoy watching the kickoff to the NFL season through the use of the great cable package included with the rental! He also really enjoyed getting to see the Blue angels practice their high flying and amazing show on their home base just 15 minutes from the house! Our kids loved playing with the beach toys left inside the front door and kept themselves busy playing in the "sand box" just down the steps several times during our stay! Thanks to the management for working with us in rescheduling after a family illness! It was a much needed break from alot of stress! Lots of enjoyment to be had by all at the Purple Parrot and the Sea Robin!

• Amazing Condo!
  The condo was emaculent! After speaking with some of the other guests at the resort, we had the best condo by far! 5 stars to the condo! We were a little disappointed by the lack of a military discount we were told would be honored. And by the failure of the staff to provide additional bathroom supplies as requested.

• Rental nice. Bar influence not happy.
  The rental unit is comfortable and has clean rooms. We didn't give 5 stars on cleanliness because the master bed comforter was dirty and so were the blankets in the chest. We've stayed in this unit for several summers since it is right by the pool and we could just walk out to it quickly. The bar is a separate business from the Purple Parrot rental units. It will influence your stay since it's in the middle and the pool is there. In years past, the Tiki Bar/music and pool was not an issue. It has always been fairly calm. However, this year the bar is now being pushed on radio stations and they play hard rock music by the pool from the early afternoon to 11 pm/midnight every day of the week, not just weekends. We were very disturbed when a little gir with a pen and paper in hand, no older than 6 yrs old, came to us and others in the pool to ask if she could take our drink order for the bar. We only did the pool 2 times, the music drove us nuts and the lyrics were things we didn't want our young kids to hear. Other music was played but it was few and far between. We did the beach everyday this year, where in the past we would have just hung out at the pool many times, especially in the evening. We didn't touch the pool in the evening this year, it was not for a family atmosphere. We did not do that this year due to the heavy influence of the bar/music. We would have stayed elsewhere if we'd known.

The music at the pool during the daytime is from a local radio station and the live music at night has never been anything with questionable lyrics. You are correct in that the Bar operates separate from the rentals, just like would be done at a Hilton, however we do try to work together to ensure that the atmosphere is enjoyable for all. The poolside units are more susceptible to the evening music volume whereas those just one unit away from the pool are far less affected. • Home away from Home
  This was our first stay at the Purple Parrot Resort. We will definately be back, we stayed in Island Paradise 8ad, it was beautiful. I can't say it any better than my 4yr grand daughter, " The parrot sure has a nice house." It was like being home away from home. It is decorated beautifully, and you can truely relax. It is close to everything, we came to visit our son at the NaS Pensacola, the resort is just a hop, skip, and a jump away. The beaches are close, just down the street. The pools at the resort are beautiful and clean. The only thing that I can say really needed any attention was the roads in the village. I looked like they could use some gravel, better yet, if they could be asphalted it would be so much better.

• Awesome!
  It was beautiful! The room was perfect. I would highly recommend it to my friends. The only down side was the noise from the upstairs guest. When they came in late at night (every night) they did not consider that there might be people downstairs and they kind of stomped around and talked loudly a little but they quieted down really qickly and all in all it wasn't that bad. I would definitely stay here again on my next vacation.

• A wonderful week
  Our family really enjoyed our stay in Perdido Key, and were happy we chose the Purple Parrot Resort. The condo was very clean, beautifully decorated and had all the amenities we needed as a family traveling with small children. It was great to have a nice kitchen to make coffee, breakfast and lunch to keep our vacation costs low. The daily rate was significantly less than the beach high rise condos, which was what signed the deal for us. We loved being on the bottom floor - Mom wasn't worried about the kids walking out on a balcony 10 stories up. And, we really enjoyed the screened in porch with chairs where our kids could play when not on the beach. The swimming pool is awesome, except in the afternoons when people were smoking. We chose to swim early in the morning to avoid that. We were able to drown out the people who stayed upstairs, and couldn't hear the music from the Tiki Bar when our kids needed to go to sleep at night. So, the only "complaint" we had was that there were 5 cockroaches (2 already dead that we found when we pulled out the sleeper sofa) on Day 1, but none after that. And, we ran out of toilet paper. Other than that, we enjoyed it enough to return if our family chooses a beach vacation again.

• My stay at Perdido Key
  The home was very nice and the staff was very accomodating. I visited over the Labor Day weekend with friends. I thought of my family's annual beach trip but decided against staying at the Purple Parrott. The pool is great but with the Tiki Bar (drinking and smoking all around the pool), it is not very child friendly. That is the only downside I saw to staying at the Purple Parrott. • Another Great Labor Day Weekend!

• Fantastic Stay
  My friend and I stayed at Return To Me with our 4 kids. We had plenty of room to relax, sleep and dine. The rental was fully stocked with for cooking and was very clean. I do wish it was closer to the pool, but we managed. The staff was friendly and accomodating.

• Great Resort, close to Gulf Island National Seashore
  Purple Parrot Village Resort is a great place, quiet, away from the tall condos, and set back into some protected wetlands. Great, huge pool with Tiki Bar, indoor pool and exercise room, saunas. The units are two story cottages. We stayed in Bahama Mama 18cd, a downstairs one-bedroom, with a bath and a half. Loved the unit and the setting. Unit was furnished and equipped wonderfully, including front-loading washer/dryer. This unit was set back off the parking a bit, with two sides fronting natural, protected wetlands, a beautiful, peaceful setting. Our favorite beach spot was the Gulf Island National Seashore, just a mile away. $8 a week per car, $10 for a senior lifetime pass to all National Parks (gets free admission to everyone in your car - for life!!). Several miles of pristine, undeveloped seashore on this barrior island which is only a couple of hundred yards wide in places. You can drive about 3 miles into the seashore, and its an additional 5+ miles to the end of the key - totally natural. In our 6 or 7 times at that beach, we never saw more than 10 - 15 people on that 3-mile stretch, many times sitting at the water's edge and the next people were 1/4 mile away. Loved the isolation and quiet - buildings, condos are faint in the distance, 3 miles away. Our most amazing experience was watching waterfowl feeding off of fish being brought to the beach by the surf -- 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. and about 7:00 - 8:00 a.m.

  we had a wonderfull time in calypso cabana, the place was clean, cozy and well decorated. Being so close to the pool was a big plus and the staff was very kind and friendly. We will definately return soon.

• I was perdido in the great place (perdido = lost in portuguese)
  very good place to spend time. Me and my wife did enjoy everything we could. very close to the beach, we can walk from there. anyway, i think for the price we pay for, we got more than we did expect. so, if you're looking for a place that you can enjoy a warm water from the beach also from the pool. that's the place you're looking for! have a good time!

  Great place to stay! Quiet. Very nice accommodations; had everything we needed. We were late arrival and they had the lights and air-conditioning on. Very welcoming!! Great pool area! Johnson Beach is just a couple of minutes away and is a awesome beach. We plan on returning!!

  We stayed at Beach Mamas and the size of the condo was great for the 6 of us (2 adults, 4 kids) Loved that there was 3 bathrooms. It was so close to both of the pools, which are awesome by the way, and a short drive to the beach.

• Great place to stay - loved the accomadations.
  My husband and I decided at the last moment to take a trip for a few days to Pensacola. We found this place online and ended up calling to make reservations. The person was very friendly and helpful. When we got to the Purple Parrot we were very pleased with the layout and decorating of our unit. It was very clean and had all the amenities we needed for a few days stay. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend it to anyone.

• watch out for pool patrol
  we rented this condo because of the beautiful pool, however, we did not realize we could bring no drinks whatsoever to the pool. All drinks had to be purchased at the bar. We went to the pool for a few hours and after almost $50 worth of soft drinks at the bar for the kids we decided it wasn't worth it. My husband and I thought we would try one more time so we got two drinks which we paid way to much for and sat in the pool on the edge and was told we couldn't do that from the pool patrol. We ended up spending our time at the beach where the kids could drink their drinks and my husband and I could sit on the edge of the water and enjoy ours. The condo was great except for the broken toilet seat. Wish you had your condo somewhere else. We won't be back due to pool patrol and outrageous drink prices. Get rid of the bar and you you would have a realy nice thing going there.

  I appreciate your feedback. You are correct, while on the pool deck all food and drinks must be purchased from the Bar or Grill if they are open. The pool deck is part an extension of the Bar which allows guest to bring drinks from the Bar drinks out onto the pool deck. At no time, as per FL Statute, is alcohol allowed in or within four feet of the pool. These type things are on our website under the Rules and Regs page, additionally we include a link to this page in the confirmation emails which are sent out at the time of booking. It is unfortunate that not being able to bring your own drinks out to the pool was such an important factor for your stay. I hope that the condo was nice as the owners have put a lot of effort into making it cozy for their guests. The King size bed and two large televisions really puts it a notch above many others and its location is great for enjoying the live music in the evenings... the bar can even bring a bottle of wine to the condo and the Grill will be able to run food out to the units pretty soon. Thanks again for your feedback. It is unfortunate that you did not have a good time as we are hopeful that everyone will enjoy the amenities we try to have available to all of our guests. • It was good to be in perdido key
  I thought the location of the condo was good to the beach however for it to be a locked so to speak Purple Parrot resort I was very disappointed in how people from the public could just walk in to the pub bar from the outside not staying there. It truly should not be classified as a gated community location. I have stayed in various gated community vaction communities and this was a far cry from that. Seeing fights happening on two nights straight was not our cup of tea. I would not recommend this to be a family oriented place to stay.

  Thanks for your feedback although the illustration may have been a bit exaggerated. Just like in a hotel, the Bar is independently owned and operated. Also, just like in a hotel the Bar is open to the public. Throughout the summer months, when tourist season is at its peak, many people come in to checkout the resort and its amenities. We do not have outsiders walking around the resort unless someone is coming in to inquire about sales or rentals. No one reported any altercation throughout the entire summer, so unless you are referring to something you witnessed while enjoying other nightlife venues in the area I am not sure what you are referring to on this one. Concerning your stay; I hope that you enjoyed the condo reserved. The unit is very comfortable and is one of only three condos which have been equipped with three queen beds and a sleeper sofa making it great for a group vacation. Thanks again. • Very clean and comfortable - with one problem
  This was a great place to stay with one caveat. When the Tiki Bar opened, the music became a big issue. The bedroom for this unit is in a direct line to the bar, and when they had live music, it was very unpleasant. By contract, the music is supposed to be quiet after 10:00, but we still found it unacceptable. Sitting in the living room trying to read we could hear the music.

• Wonderful surprise
  We came in with our son's baseball team from TX. Generally when we come to Florida we like to stay in a place directly on the beach, so we were a little leery about the location. It turned out to be a very nice facility, very clean, and comfortable. It was only a couple minute drive to the beach, which turned out to be no problem. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and probably the biggest surprise was how nice the area was and how conveniently located to shopping center and then just up the road from the Gulf Shores. I would definitely recommend The Purple Parrot to everyone and will consider coming back in the future.

• Nearly Perfect
  The vacation home was excellent in every way. Clean, comfortable, close to the pool. It had everything we needed and I mean everything, even down to an ice cream scoop. The staff was friendly and professional. The pool was clean, we loved the waterfall. And the live music. I was surprised to learn that the bar and the pool (when the bar is open) were both open to the public. Didn't like that at all. But I would stay there again anyway.

  it was a great place & loved the pool and management was very nice. bar was great too. only thing is i had guests coming for the day with kids and i wanted to buy their pool passes for the day but the staff wouldn't let me. i had to give the money to my guests & insist they let me buy their passes which was difficult- but they were my guests!! i wish there was some other compromise that could have been worked out about that with the staff. would love to stay again next vacation. the condo was very nice.

• Great vacation home
  We had a wonderful time. The location of Parrot Head was great. Even though it's by the exit, it was very quiet. Being close to the pool was a bonus for our family as well. With the exception of the absence of a few kitchen items, everything was perfect in the house. The staff was very friendly, and they were helpful with a late arrival. Beds were comfortable, and the house had enough space to accommodate a family of 6 easily. Location of the resort is perfect - close to grocery stores and beach, but far enough off the path for quietness.

• Great for kids
  We had a wonderful experience at The Purple Parrot. Excellent location between Orange Beach and Pensacola. The management was great. They had a baby gate that we could borrow to keep our 2 year old off the stairs. Our kids loved the condo. Everything we needed was available. We can't wait to stay again. We love the indoor and the outdoor pool. The only complaint our kids had was about the size of the TV. Since we didn't go on vacation to watch TV, it wasn't really a problem.

• We had a fantastic anniversary/family vacation.
  We were so excited that friends of ours..owners in the same villa invited us to spend the weekend for our anniversary. My spouse, children, friends, and their children rented this home. It was perfect for our two families and convenience of having the pool close was ideal. Visiting with all our friends was fantastic. However, the neighbors across the way watched us the entire visit. They counted people who came in and out. They called the Sherriff, manager, and rental manager to complain. We have stayed at the beach countless times, but never have we ever had an experience like this! I am still waiting on the manager to call me because I had complaints of our own. I felt very violated and uncomfortable being under the watchful eye of nosey neighbors. Other than that we had so much fun and can't wait to go back.

• All the comforts of Home...Plus!
  Aside from the first night being noisey from the second floor tenants the rest of the week was perfect. The condo was clean, spacious, and tastefully decorated. • Easy relaxing
  I really love this resort. I will return and I am a frequent guest. The staff is friendly and helpful. The very comfortable condo was well stocked with everything needed. The pool is so wonderful for any age to enjoy. I do have one little hiccup, I am not crazy with the public now being allowed to entering the pool and tiki area. It got a bit roudy on Sat night with a college age group. I would like to see the pool stay for paying guest at the resort only. Maybe the management can see about addressing that.

• This was our 2nd stay
  This was our 2nd year to stay at the Purple Parrot. Jd does a fantastic job and we have no complaints with his management. Leah also does an extremely good job. We had a small problem when all of the power in our unit went out right after I had taken a shower but JD and Leah immediately cured the problem by relocating us to another unit. We will return again in the future. The Tiki bar is under new managment and we are thrilled that a restaurant will be opening on the premises in the near future. Our only suggestion is that the price for mixed drinks is too high for the serving you receive and we think coolers should be allowed when you are laying out by the pool. The entertainment in the Tiki bar this year was excellent and Kyle Parker should be booked again and again.

• Relaxing Weekend Getaway
  We really enjoyed our stay at the Purple Parrot. Irish Isles was very clean, comfortable, and well provisioned. The resort location is a nice retreat from the sometimes busy high-rise condos and makes you feel more like your hanging with the locals. The resort management staff is very friendly and made the whole rental process super easy. The huge pool with the waterfalls and bridges is absolutely beautiful. We loved hanging out there and enjoying music from the local bands on the weekend evenings. The music was also very nice from the front porch of Irish Isles - not to loud, just relaxing, and you couldn't hear at all if you went inside. Nearby Johnson Beach is very pristine. One area of the beach is mostly for swimming with a lifeguard on duty, while other areas further are more secluded. Pensacola, Orange Beach, Gulf Shores, and Foley are all within easy driving distant. So if you want to get out a bit, there are a lot of attractions, restaurants, and shopping choices to choose from. Minor issues: There were a couple of light bulbs out in the living and dining area, some loose spindles on the front porch rail, and mildew on the front doors and porch - we easily cleaned the doors ourselves, so it must have just been overlooked during the otherwise excellent cleaning process. And there seem to be several locals that know the entrance gate code and prefer to park inside the resort near the rear entrance to the Tiki Bar on the weekend evenings. And since this is also where Irish Isles is located, parking spots can actually fill up very quickly at times. Very friendly locals, but we just didn't enjoy having our own parking spot taken when we returned to the resort. Next time we stay here, we will probably have two vehicles of our own - so parking might be more of an issue for us.

Parking is conveniently located in front of this condo, as with many condos, but is not assigned. When you return with two vehicles next time, rent this three bedroom condo again as many of the others are secluded which makes for a little walk to the condo - more secluded is good for some visitors, but it seems like you preferred being right close to the pools. The gate code is changed frequently, but after reading your review we will be sure to keep an eye out to make certain only authorized vehicles are parking within the gates. • Excellent - will stay again.
  The staff was excellent. Everyone was super friendly. The condo was wonderful clean and very welcoming. The pool was great and the tiki made the night life so fun. • Fun for family time

• Ok, but not what we had hoped for.
  I was disappointed with the appearance of the resort when we pulled in, overgrown with weeds, stone driveways and parking areas inside the resort. Our unit had carpet that was very dirty, and little things like electrical outlet switchplate with no screw that popped off, broken screen door closing mechanism, vacuum cleaner with no bag, disposal not working, etc. JD was very responsive when I reported these minor problems. Overall, it was ok, I guess I was just disappointed when I compared our rental to some of the other baseball team families rentals we saw at other locations. I don't think I'd return unless there were some major renovations to the facility and condo.

• Parrot-Dise at Perdido Keys Purple Parrot is Excellent
  We came from the northeast to visit our son who is stationed on the Navy base. Our condo was spotless, had everything we needed, was two minutes from the store, two minutes from the beach, ten minutes from the base and the alabama border. One of the nicest and easiest vacations we've ever had and we will certainly be back in the future!

• We love having a cozy condo with all amenities away from home.
  Boogie Man 36C was a great, cozy house. I loved that it was the first in the series of condo's in this area, which made it convenient for everything (unpacking/packing auto. groceries, pool) It was nicely appointed and the beds were comfy too. That at the end of the day is a must. My college age sons and my parents were also with me. We loved it! We had family in 3 other units as well and had gathered for a family wedding and reunion, so we had a great time! I am pretty picky and I was delighted with everything that 36C offered us.

• A Wonderful Vacation Experience!!
  We found the Purple Parrot online.We spoke with Mr. J.D., & he gave us all the information we needed to book our villa.We chose the Lazy Daze Villa,because our son loved the idea of a loft & it was poolside.Our check-in paperwork was ready when we arrived.Check-in was made simple & easy & by very friendly people.Our villa was freshly cleaned & decorated beautifully.We felt like we were in a little dollhouse.It was just precious & had everything we needed during our stay.The loft was perfect for our son.We loved our poolside villa.The pool & waterfall was amazing.Simply beautiful! It was so relaxing & had such a tropical feel.The Tiki Bar had music playing & a couple nights during our stay they provided us with live music,which we loved.The owners of the Tiki Bar made it a point to come out & greet us.They were very nice & courteous & asked us several times if we were enjoying our vacation.It was so nice to have the Tiki Bar so close to the pool,as it made it so convenient to order drinks & get right back to our pool chairs.There were ample pool chairs, & we were always able to get chairs at any time of the day.The Tiki Bar also had large flat screen t.v.'s.It was a treat to watch the Jimmie Buffet concert...poolside!!We also used the indoor pool one afternoon.It was a nice break from the intense July sunshine.Most indoor pools are so cold,but this one was very comfortable.We loved that the beach was so close..closer than we had anticipated.Johnson Beach was gorgeous.We walked across the pier labled "B" & the sand was so white..almost untouched. The water was clear & beautiful.We watched the Blue angels while on the beach.There is a drop box at the office for early morning departures.We will be back..we loved the Purple Parrot & we loved our Lazy Daze unit.We appreciated the courtesy extended from Mr. J.D.,the staff & the Tiki Bar owners.We felt like we were among family during our stay.Thanks for making our vacation a memorable one!

  Wow! What can I say. The place was so much more than I ever thought of. The entire resort was clean, JD was friendly and a great resource, the swimming pool was fun for our 2 year old son, cold beer at the tiki bar, and the house was absolutely beautiful. We decided that we will be returning in april at some point. Thanks again JD for the info on the Cactus Flower Restaurant. I advise to book a vacation asap here, no oil seen. • Spacious well stocked kitchen, lots of room for big family
  The pool was huge and everyone had a great time! We had a family reunion and there was plenty of room for everyone! The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and pots and pans so we didn't have to bring kitchenware, and we were able to make big meals for a big get-together!

• Wonderful experience
  We had a wonderful time at the Irish Isles at the Purple Parrot. Had such a wonderful time that we added a night to our stay.. The pool area is fantastik and the house had everything that you could possibly need. The very short drive, maybe 2 minutes, to the beach is no hassle at all. And Johnson beach is beautiful and has lifeguards. I highly recommend this house and the Purple Parrot to others. We are already planning a return trip.

• A Wonderful Wedding Week
  We were there to see our Granddaughter marry at the beach on Friday. Storm Bonnie held off long enough for this to happen without much incident, just a little rain and wind, but God sent a beautiful rainbow to the kids to start their marriage. A wonderful week full of friends and family from both sides..got to meet lots of new people and just thoroughly enjoyed relaxing and resting some.

• Disappointed, tiki bar/restaraunt closed all week, beach not clo
  The condo unit itself was immaculate, we absolutely loved it. We were disappointed that the tiki bar and restaraunt was closed the whole time we were there - we chose this property a lot on the pool and tiki bar/restaraunt on site. We were never told it would be closed and also the beach pass promised to us did not work, they would not let us in without paying. Then on top of that mid week the oil came in and there were swim advisories - yet we were not offered any type of rebate or refund of our premium weekly rental fee.

• Away from it all.

• If thry had a grocery store on=site, I'd never have to leave.
  Everyone was very nice. The staff was courteous and responsive. It was a great value. The pool was the primary draw and both the kids and adults loved it. The tiki bar was a big plus. We enjoyed all that it added to our stay. We understood that a kitchen was in process of being installed. We look forward to that the next time we stay.

• Perfect Honeymoon Getaway
  We got married on public access beach number 2 at Perdido Key and had a wonderful wedding/honeymoon week at the Purple Parrott! The place was wonderful and we were just steps from the pool. The Tiki Bar was temporarily closed but that made it even better for 2 honeymooners wanting to be more alone than around other folks! Absolutely loved our stay and will definately come back! Everything worked as it was supposed to and we had no problems. We took short trips to Gulf Shores, Alabama, Pensacola Beach and Destin then came back to the peace and quiet of Perdido Key. Unfortunately, there was oil around in areas, but we were able to dodge it and get in the Gulf and of course the wonderful pool at the Purpoe Parrott. Many great restaurants within a few minutes or 20 minutes east and west. Must go to the Flori-Bama and silver moon bars right on the border!

• Love the Pool
  We stayed because I have family with a beach house nearby and we wanted a pool for the kids, especially with the potential for oil in the bay and gulf. The big pool is always a delight. Disappointed the Tiki Bar was closed. Our unit had a couple of maintenance issues (water stain on ceiling, broken stair rail) that needed attention and I was concerned that the stair rail didn't merit immediate attention. The place is very nice, but a bit expensive compared to others.

• Very Enjoyable Family Vacation
  We loved the location of this condo within the complex; close to the pool but off the road a little with a marsh area directly behind it. The pool was wonderful and the kids loved swimming everyday. This was great since the complex isn't right on the beach and there were some tar balls on the beach when we visited. The condo was beautifully decorated and provided all of the comforts of home. The Tiki Bar reopened while we were there and had live music every afternoon. It made for a little bit of a party atmosphere (especially over July 4th weekend).

• Best Quiet Vacation Ever!
  We loved the back upper balcony that faced the green marsh behind the property. As soon as we were inside we felt like we were in a remote beach house but had the convenience of a great location and a beautiful pool area. The mattress in the master bedroom was the most comfortable mattress we've slept on in a vacation rental. The unit was clean and had nice appliances. The air conditioner was typical for a small two story home and didn't cool the house evenly, but with the privacy, location and tasteful decorations we both agree it is one of our favorite vacation homes.

Concerning the AC; we notice that in the evenings when everyone is settled that no one seems to mention anything about the AC - I think this is a result of the summers being so hot and when guests go in-and-out of the two-story condo during the daytime it puts a bit of a strain on the AC unit with all the hot air coming in the condo. • relaxing and enjoyable
  My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Purple Parrot. We were lucky in that the Tiki Bar had just reopened, so there was lots of entertainment. They even had a cookout on the weekend. Our cottage was very nice although not much of a view. It was quiet and the master bed was extremelly comfortable. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable, so we were glad our guests were not able to come.

• A dream get-away that that you hate to leave!
  An immaculate, tastfully decorated home away from home. Kitchen well supplied. Nice roomy floor plan. Quiet location. Grocery stores, drugstore, restaurants,beaches less than five minutes away! For private beaches try the federal park beaches with pavillion. For only $8 get a week pass. Free beach entry available at other locations nearby.

• very relaxing vacation spot
  Nice condo. Overall pleased with the week we spent at the resort. Only disappointment was a gas grill was advertised and when we arrived we did not have one. It is a downstairs condo so if you have noisy neighbors you will be able to hear them. Would stay here again in the future.

• Nice place for a family stay.
  This is a great place for a family to stay. The only problem we had was with the shower curtain. It was broken in one of our bathrooms and they never fixed it during our stay. We had only one working shower. This did cause some issues.

• Absolute bliss!
  Can't say enough good things! If you want Layed-back -No-worry family time this is it. Great location to a lot of great things to do. Traffic minimal, staff accessible for all requests, shopping an services easy to take care of. For us this off the beaten path our new favorite!

• It was humid
  The Rancho was very clean. We did not have any complaints. The only thing i would suggest is to put rain gutters on thats all. We feel bad for the people down there for that dang oil spill from BP. The pool was fun and the tiki bar was to i hope they reopen it cause the reason we stayed at this resort was the tiki bar. The people are very nice and welcome you with open arms. We hope to come back down some year again but this time we will fly to long a drive from South Dakota to there. Thanks again and i hope this oil doesnt screw with the tourists.

• Great times!!!
  I stayed with my family and kids,where was never a lack of things to do,was overall a great vacation,prefect distance from the beach,really enjoyed the passes to Johnsons Beach.Came here with a relaxed state of mind,only two things stopped a perfect rating and that was trouble with the ice maker & the window in the master bedroom caused you wake early (was actually great if you want to get an early start,just no sleeping in).overall great times...

We have had others mention the sunlight in the morning coming from the diamond shaped window, so after searching everywhere for blinds which would work for the unique window we invested in a large diamond shaped pillow. • What a beautiful, clean, and family friendly vacation home
  The vacation home was very clean and well decorated. The kitchen was well equipped, we enjoyed the games that were location in the TV cabinet, and we also enjoyed the screened in porch. What a great place to escape for a week long vacation. The pool was a big plus because it was very kid friendly as it was a very big and shallow pool. We were not bothered by others and we had complete privacy during our stay.

• Great location, will stay here again!
  We stayed at Parrot Head, unit 2a for eight nights in June. Checkin was after hours and the staff had our keys and info waiting for us at the condo. Overall staff was very accessible and was very helpful when we experienced aC problems our sixth night in. We came back to find the aC not working, called the after hours number and we knew within about 20 minutes that a company was on their way to look at the problem. The only concerns we noted were numerous carpet stains in the main living area, as well as more upstairs. We made sure to note that on our check in the next am. I would like to see a new shower curtain liner in the master shower, the one there was moldy and ripped. This was nothing huge, but better maintenance as far as the cleaning company goes would be nice. We are looking to stay here for next spring break, maybe not in this unit, as we would not need all of the space, but the same location. This was a great value and we were overall very well pleased with the unit.

• relaxing
  This condo was a beautiful. Had everything we needed. When the air conditioning went out on memorial day someone was right there to fix it. Need to let people know though you can't use the free johnson beach pass. We never did receive a refund for that. We truly enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

• Like having a private luxury beach house!
  The Sea Robin is in the perfect location, near the pool but not too close. If you stay over the weekend, you can hear the live music coming from the Tiki Bar when you sit on the patio! The furnishings are comfortable, it was clean, and there are plenty of towels, sheets, and pots & pans to cook with. We loved the privacy, we loved that the beach was just a couple of minutes away -- and we loved that the Johnson's Beach Pass came with the rental. The only reason I gave cleanliness four stars instead of five was because there was a roach the size of a mouse inhabiting the kitchen. Other than that, the house was spotless! I would definitely recommend The Sea Robin to anyone, and we will definitely be back next year!

• Everything you would need or want.

• A peaceful, quick getaway off the beaten path.
  From the moment we contacted JD at the front desk we knew our families' experience would be a good one. The beach house was beautiful and extremely clean. • The best beach vacation we have taken with our grandchiidren
  I found the resort by accident, googling the net for a more economical vacation than gulf front condos offered. My family has visited Gulf Shores for many years but decided to try something different this year. The resort surpassed all my expectations. The pool was ideal for the youn children. They left wanting to know when we could come back to the Purple Parrot. We will be back for a longer stay next year.

• We will definitely be back!
  My husband and I brought our 9 year old daughter and 8 year old son for a weekend getaway. This was our first time we have stayed at the Purple Parrot and we all had a blast. The condo was super clean and very nice. We were in the pool by 9am and stayed all day. When it started to rain, we went to the indoor pool. By the end of the day we were all water logged, but happy. At night we played games and just enjoyed the condo. The best part, the kids did not fight once on the whole trip. It was beautiful! When we were leaving, my daughter said quielty from the back seat, "I love Perdido Key..." That sums it up for us! We will definitely be back soon!

• Great vacation, very relaxing environment.
  We normally stay in Gulf Shores or Orange Beach, but this was so much more relaxed. You didn't have all the hussle and bussle as you would in Gulf Shores. Our kids really enjoyed the awesome outdoor pool. The resort was beautiful and very quiet. The Slow Mo was very well equiped and very comfortable. We hope to stay again next summer.

• Home away from Home
  When we entered the property, the lights and air were on. The place simply said, "Welcome Home." The management is outstanding. The only problem we encountered was the shower. Don't be afraid to ask JD to give you a demonstration, if needed. I look forward to returning.

• Purple Parrot and Slo Mo rock!!
  My husband and son (5 yrs old) arrived at the Purple Parrot Village Resort on May 29, 2010 for a Memorial Week-end vacation. We were absolutely blown away by the amenities--the pool area is fabulous!! (According to my 5 yr old son "this place rocks!") Slo Mo was the perfect home for us. It was stocked with everything we could possibly need. Jd Hallam and Lindsay were wonderful to deal with. They are very friendly and helpful and make sure that your visit is everything it's supposed to be. Excellent customer service! Perdido Key is a beautiful area, quiet and perfect for families. We went to Johnson Beach, just a 2 minute drive from Slo Mo. Such a beautiful area. We will definately return to Purple Parrot again. We loved everything about it. Thanks for making our trip truly enjoyable!

• Fun in the sun
  My wife and I traveled with 2 friends to this resort. Excellent. Check-in very easy and very pleased with accomodations. The pool is out of pools beautiful. Five minutes from everything. Johnson beach a must, 8 dollars per car load per week, a value. We rented a pontoon boat from Wallaces in Orange beach (4 miles away) and caught sail catfish and sea trout. We had Florida licenses and had to find Florida waters to fish. Over all a very positive , relaxing time. Will recommond to others and we will return.

• Wonderful vacation
  We stayed at Seaclusion 18a the last week in May and it was fantastic. The condo is so comfortable and relaxing. We have stayed in this condo 3 or 4 times now it feels like our home away from home. The management is super great. We arrived late and they put a key pad on the door so we could get in after hours. They even had the air conditioner on for us. It was a real treat to walk into a cool condo after an 8 hour drive. We will be back soon.

• Most Enjoyable
  I stayed for two weeks, starting in Mid-May, to visit my girlfriend and her family who live a mere ten minutes away from the resort. From even before I got there JD, the resort manager, was extremely helpful and easy to talk with about anything. The condo I stayed in, Peachy Keen, was clean and well furnished; It was also located a bit off the main road of the resort which was to my liking. I didn't actually use the pools or gym equipment, but I walked around and looked it all; Everything seemed to be in good and well kept order. There are however to small things: 1) I didn't like the rocky road, nor really understand why it existed as such; 2) My distance from the trash receptacles, this however might have been oversight on my part. The location suited me well with several stores and restaurants close by, and as I noted being close to the entire reason I came. All in all it was quite the deal.

• lovely,quiet, and low key
  Although about a half a mile to the beach the Purple Parrot resort comes highly recommended. The condo was nicely appointed and clean and the pool with it's waterfall and Tiki-Bar made for a tropical feel. I would stay again and was well pleased.

  The condo was beautiful, there was plenty of everything. The pools were both clean and well attended. The couple in the office were wonderful and very helpful. • Convenience and Comfort just down from the beach
  My wife and I honeymooned at the Purple Parrot. We were on a very tight budget and had to make a decision that was affordable and you simply could not beat the price we got for 5 nights. It was a comfortable unit (a little small but adequate for 2) with a full kitchen with a convenient Walmart and Winn-Dixie that really made it worth our while. We ate in more than we ate out! Saving money by not having to buy breakfast and then being able to pack lunch to the beach (especially one as nice as Florida's Gulf Islands National Seashore) was exactly what we needed.

The condos are stocked with a roll of toilet paper and bar of soap in each bathroom for your arrival. Additionally, all trashcans have liners. Though we cannot force our guests to read our emails, we do make an effort to ensure that all guests are informed by including a link to our "Things To Bring" web page within the confirmation email you receive after making a reservation. This page lists the items you would need to plan on bringing so that you could be prepared for your stay in one of the vacation homes here in Perdido Key. Some guests choose to bring these items with them and others swing by the local grocery store after checking-in. If we have extra in the office, then we will certainly give it away when requested though we likely did not have any extra at the time (busy weekend for the Memorial Day Holiday). The question asked was what condo you were in as the on-site office handles ~60 of ~65 rental units here at the resort, so sometimes guests of unit in which we do not handle ask for items such as toilet paper because the rent-by-owner process did not include a "thing's to bring" link in their confirmation. • We loved the Purple Parrot!!
  The office staff was very friendly and helpful. The condo was super clean and decorated beautifully. We loved that there was an indoor pool to use when we wanted to swim but needed a break from the sun. I would highly recommend this resort, it is very family friendly with a relaxing atmosphere.

• Irish Isles, May 2010
  We thouroghly enjoyed our visit to Pensacola and Perdido Key/ Purple Parrot. Irish Isles is a great unit. However. We were a bit misled when we found no toilet paper, no paper towels, no dish soap, no basic kitchen supplies ie salt/pepper, no trash bags etc. The description boasted a well stocked unit, however with 8 people staying there we needed to stock up on things we didn't feel we should have. We ended up purchasing over $40 worth of stuf we ended up leaving behind, but needed while we were there. Welcome to condo life I suppose. It would have been helpful for an informational sheet been provided at time of confirmation as to what we needed to supply, so we had been better prepared. Had a nice time just the same. The unit also was described as having two twin beds...a trundle bed does not qualify as two twins. It was planned for 2 young adults in their 20's so we needed to re-arrange the room to make it work (barely).

  Thanks for your feedback. I am glad that you enjoyed the area and resort. I am sorry that you misunderstood the condo rental process. Unlike hotels, when renting a condo the bathroom and paper products are not replenished on a daily basis. The condos are stocked with a roll of toilet paper and bar of soap in each bathroom for your arrival. Additionally, all trashcans have liners. A three bedroom condo would have three rolls of toilet paper and three bars of soap upon arrival. Though we cannot force our guests to read our emails, we do make an effort to ensure that all guests are informed by including a link to our "Things To Bring" web page within the confirmation email you receive when making reservation. This page lists the items you would need to plan on bringing so that you could be prepared for your stay in one of the vacation homes here in Perdido Key. Some guests choose to bring these items with them and others swing by the local grocery store after checking-in. The 'well-stocked' wording is referring to the cookware, dinnerware, bakeware, flatware, bed and bath linens in the condo. Some condos are minimally equipped, whereas this unit has more than you would need for the typical one week stay. Concerning the trundle twin; the property description briefly mentions this, however it was near the bottom so I moved it higher to avoid any future confusion. • A Wonderful Vacation
  Great! We loved the place and found it to be just as the pictures showed. We were amazed at how well equipped the kitchen was. Every thing we needed was there for us. We felt at home. The pool was excellent and very clean. This place went beyond our expectations for the week.

• A Great Family Vacation!
  My wife and our 4 children wanted to go to the Gulf Shores for vacation and stumbled upon the Purple Parrot while looking for vacation homes. The Caribe Corner 3a was exactly what we were looking for. A 2 bedroom 3 bath villa fit my family of 6 perfectly. We were located right next to the pool (pool 3ft deep almost all the way around, good for kids) and right next to the pool gate where the kids could easily go back and forth from the house to the pool area. My wife and I enjoyed ourselves at the Tiki bar which was in a great location to our house as well being connected to the pool area. As for our activities we did tons and had so much fun; Johnson's beach (1 minute away) from Purple Parrot is gorgeous with white sand and clear turquoise water, dolphin watching, Alligator farm (held baby gator) and the zoo where we played with baby tigers were all a perfect fit for our family vacation. We not only saw dolphins on our dolphin watch but we saw dolphins while at the beach about 200 yards from us!! Truly a Great Vacation, one of the best!!

• Perfect.
  Perdido Key is my favorite beach along the Gulf Coast. I have stayed in many different complexes over the years and Purple Parrot is, without a doubt, within my top 2 favorite establishments. The exclusivity in your own private condo makes for an absolutely relaxed vacation. And sitting in the pool at sunset, with a drink in hand, makes for one of those movie-like moments. Rum and Cola 34CD was an adorable 1 bedroom condo. It was clean, well decorated and even has a little balcony off the back of the building that overlooks the swamps. Picturesque. I give my personal accolades to the management staff. I called PP within the same week as our vacation, scrambling to find a suitable condo, and even on such short notice they were able to find the perfect one for us. Thank you to the owners who were also willing to accommodate us. It meant the world to us! Thank you to everyone who helped make our stay absolutely amazing! -L. Williams

• Just an Okay experience
  Condo 10C was updated with a great theme. The unit has flat screens and nice furniture. If staying at the resort, I would recommend this condo. Our disappointment was with the overall property condition. We stayed at the Purple Parriot when it was first built and was expecting the same look. We found several buildings needing work, grounds in poor condition. Sidewalk lights out, and the entrance in terrible condition.
