Government Shutdown

The federal government shutdown doesn't limit all outdoor recreationists' activities though it may impact people's outdoor plans in Florida if they are planning on going to federal parks and wildlife refuges.  To be sure, consult federal park websites.  However, there may be closes on boat ramps as well as hunting, fishing, and wildlife viewing, as well as closures on visitor centers and gates at all access points.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC managed) lands will remain opened.  There will be FWC officers on duty throughout the state, and for more information on amenities still available at the state wildlife management areas feel free to check online or call 888-404-3922 (FWCC).

Also, for you fishing enthusiasts, Florida has extended the snapper season until October 21st!  So get out there and come show us pictures of your catches!
