The Perdido Key Sports Bar is cooking up another great event with their 2nd Annual Tailgate on the Key to be held the weekend of October 2nd & 3rd. The event will be held in the Perdido Key Sports Bar parking lot at 13583 Perdido Key Drive.
The kickoff starts Friday night with a performance outside by the bands Whyte Caps and The Beachbilly’s. The concert will start at 5:30 pm with the The Beachbilly’s, followed by the Whyte Caps from 8pm – 11. There will be seating and food service outside to enjoy the music. On Saturday, visitors are invited to set up their own tailgates in the parking lot, compete for Best Tailgate and enjoy samples from the Amateur and Professional Team Cook-Off Competition. There will also be Vendors, Games and Cash Prizes. The Perdido Key Sports Bar parking lot will have large outside tents with TV’s for game viewing and will also be set up with bar and tables.
The Cook-Off Competition is open to both amateur and professional chefs with prizes being awarded in both categories. Event coordinator Bobbie Perry, is excited to have returning teams compete again this year saying “What chef wouldn’t want bragging rights for winning Best Tailgate Dish on the Key?” Cash Prizes will be awarded for People’s Choice, Judge’s Choice and the Tailgate team displaying the Best Team Spirit.
All fans are encouraged to reserve a tailgate space for Saturday and decorate for competition. A cash prize of $100 will be awarded for best-decorated area.
According to Judy Davis, Owner of Perdido Key Sports Bar she was thrilled with the response from last year’s event and is excited to have everyone out again this year. Davis says she is excited to have fans of all teams come out to watch the games, enjoy great music and sample some awesome food. Judy shared that all proceeds from entry fees and tasting tickets will be donated to the Wonderful Wacky Women Ovarian Cancer Fund and Simon Says Prostate Cancer Fund.
Oktoberfest @ The FloraBama
The world Famous Flora-Bama is hosting its annual Oktoberfest on Saturday, Oct. 3! So break our your lederhosen and get ready for brats, sauerkraut, and a variety of German beer flow during this festival. There will be German style musical acts performing throughout the day, so start practicing your Chicken Dance.
Children are more than welcome during this family friendly event. It lasts all day and night at the Flora-Bama.

The Annual National Shrimp Festival presented by Zatarain’s and sponsored in part by our wonderful sponsors, is held each year during the second full weekend in October on the beautiful beaches of Gulf Shores, Alabama. This year we enjoyed the 2nd Annual Shrimp Festival Idol Contest which took place Saturday on the west stage. This contest featured the best of the best youth talent from Baldwin County, AL.

Join The Fish House for their 4th Annual Toasts of the Coasts Food and Wine events at the Fish House! This series of wine dinners will feature master sommeliers and vintners showcasing stellar wines from around the world. Each event will highlight a selection of three wines paired with a four-course meal as presented by Chef Matthew Brown of the Fish House. In addition, each guest speaker will be bringing special bottles for door prizes and giveaways.
