10 Fun Free Things

Take advantage of just some of the fun FREE things to do in the Perdido Key area!

1. Visit the Naval Museum – The Naval Museum has tons of fun but educational sights. Marvel at the history, take a virtual ride on one of the simulators or experience a larger than life look at the IMAX Theater. Admission is free!

2. Hunt for Crabs – All you need is a bucket and flashlight for this activity! Walk along the Perdido Key beach at night and search for out little friends. Catch them with a small net and collect them in your bucket to get a better look. Don’t forget to let our little friends go!

3. Watch the Blue Angels Practice – Tuesdays and Wednesdays starting at 11:30, watch them from the base or even watch them from the beach for free! The Blue Angel pilots are available at the base after practice for autographs!

4. Take a Nature Hike – Visit Tarklin Bayou state park for a free nature hike!

5. Perdido Kids Park – Take the little ones for a fun park day!

6. Take a Sunrise or Sunset beach stroll

7. Kite Flying – Brings your kites and fly them along the beach in the the ocean breeze

8. Beach Picnic – Pack a homemade lunch and have lunch or even dinner on the sand along the emerald coast

9. Search for Shells and Sand dollars – I recommend visiting the beach early in the morning, and search along the shore where the waves are crashing against the sand for the best se treasures!

10. Boat Watching at Hub Stacey’s at the Point – After you have lunch at one of the favorite local spots, grab a seat on the docks and watch the many boats pass along!
