We just returned from a week in beautiful Perdido Key. My husband and I LOVED the condo. It was furnished beautifully and the resort is wonderful. The pool and tiki bar are fun and the beach is literally a two minute drive. I can not express in enough words how lovely our vacation was. We will definitely return and stay at the Purple Parrot Resort!

A Wonderful Little Haven

5 of 5

When our plans to stay with friends fell through, the resort staff came through for us with this wonderful little haven. We have stayed in other villas at the Purple Parrot in the past so we knew we were making a good choice and we weren't disappointed. The Sundancer is nicely furnished and the bed especially is super comfortable. The bathroom is well stocked with towels. And the kitchen has everything you need to be able to cook your own meals. This was so much nicer and less expensive than staying in hotel and you really feel like you're in a home!

My 2014 Spring Break

5 of 5

This year's spring break was the first vacation in almost 30 years that my husband and I went on without our children. On our first morning, I was showing him around the resort, as I have brought my daughters to the Purple Parrot two other times. After walking to the outdoor pool, I started to lead him to the indoor pool's location, when I stepped on what I thought was dry sand. It was not. I rolled my ankle, breaking two bones and fell face first into the gravel drive. A man staying upstairs in the building behind the Sundancer came running and helped my husband get me up. He even brought a wet washcloth to clean my face. You might consider putting some sort of rock or even extend the sidewalk behind the pool to the drive behind the bar. As far as the Sundancer, the condo is lovely. The drive to the beach was fine. Due to my injury, I never attempted to walk to the beach. We never could get the bedroom fan to run without the glowing shade, so the owner might consider leaving directions on the bedside table. I will most likely request a two bedroom if I return, as the woman and her grandchildren staying above us were a little noisy, very early each morning.

I hope your recovery is a speedy one and will pass along the feedback to the resort's HOA. The complex has sand, cobblestones, bahama-base gravel and grass in various places throughout the grounds. The outdoor pool has cobblestone surrounding the pool deck, the roads are the bahama-base gravel and the condos have either sand or grass around them. The outdoor pool has a sidewalk behind the waterfall which leads back to the indoor pool house. We hope to have you back after a quick recovery. Kindest Regards, JD Hallam PKRM Rental Manager

Very well appointed place to spend a vacation.

5 of 5

We thought to vacation home was very attractive, well situated, and quite satisfying for our needs. The only negative we had was the inability to get the broadband internet service to function.

Manager Reply

Thanks for the review. This condo doesn't have a wireless router, however the is a modem with an ethernet cord supplied behind the entertainment center. You can plug it into your laptop and you will be on a quick cable internet connection. If you're traveling with a tablet, feel free to hook up to any open network int he complex. Hope to see you again soon! Kindest Regards, JD Hallam PKRM Rental Manager

Spring Break

4 of 5

We had a good time but my husband and I could have a good time anywhere. The condo was nice, although we do have a few suggestions for the owners. Their bed felt like a full not a queen, it was a little tight. There is plenty of room for a king which we would have preferred. The condo had so much decoration in it that we had to move stuff just to sit something down. They really need to clear off the kitchen countertop, kitchen table, night stands and end tables so the people staying there will have a place to put their stuff. The TV is old and it is not in front of the sofa so there is not a good angle to watch TV and we ended up sitting on the floor or moving chairs around. The carpet needs cleaning badly you can tell they have pets. The shower head is about 10 feet from the ground and by the time the water hits you it loses pressure. They need to install a hand held shower head for shorter people. They also need to purchase a cheap plastic quart jug with a top on it to put in their kitchen for mixing tea, etc. The only one they had was a glass picture with no lid. This is the first condo we have stayed in ever that didn't have one. The pool was nice, although we would not stay here in the summer because during those months they do not allow outside food or drinks at the pool. There is a tiki bar on the pool grounds which force you to purchase their overpriced drinks, not family friendly

Manager Reply

I am a bit confused by the review. The review is dated for spring 2012, but the bar was not open while this guest was here. Additionally, it likely will not be open this summer 2012 and I am puzzled by the "overpriced drinks" comment seeming how this guest wasn't here while the bar was open. The resort IS family friendly as the large majority of our guests are families on vacation - we specifically avoid marketing to spring breakers and guests must be at least 25 to make a reservation. The bed is a queen and the condo does have a lot of character by way of the decor. All condos are privately owned (not corporate or timeshare) and each individual owner has their own preference as to how they decorate the vacation home. If requested guests may chose to rent a condo with a king bed. Pictures of all vacation homes can be seen online along with a description of how they are furnished. The televisions are both in good working order in this condo, however I suspect that they do not get much use when the owner of this unit is staying here as they prefer to hang out at the pool and beach or turn on the radio while enjoying the sunshine on the condo deck which likely explains the viewing angle mentioned. The sofa is along one wall with the entertainment center perpendicular along the adjacent wall. Given the inaccurate information concerning the amenities, I assume that this guest stayed with us during 2011 and just recently left a review, nonetheless some of the feedback is constructive and will be forwarded to the owner. Great resort

5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at our condo "Montego Bay" at Perdido Key Resort. It was more than we thought it would be. All we need to bring along were clothes, our personal products and some food to cook. We didn't get to use the outdoor pool, but it is so beautiful. We would most definitely visit Perdido Key Resort in the future and recommend it to family and friends.

Beaches, restaurants and fishing was fabulous

4 of 5

When we stepped into Montego Bay we thought we had entered a Tommy Bahama showroom. The layout was top rate!It was so welll furnished that there was literally no kitchen cabinet room for anything you want to bring to cook. Johnson Beach is only minutes away. I fished on the beach side as well as the intercoastal side and caught loads of fish from the bank. Paula, from the terrific resort management team arranged a tee time as well as a special rate for a great golf course minutes away.Don't plan on eating anything from the Tiki Bar area. Even though they advertised great food, I never could catch anyone near the food area in the five days we stayed. However,go to the nearby Point Restaurant or Fishermans Corner. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. We will definetly be back!!

Good weekend place

4 of 5

Unit decoration was unique, but the unit was comfortable. There's some noise in the parking lot about 2-3am on occainsions when the clubs close, but all in all, a good value.

We love the Purple Parrot and will be back! Montego is a Great place, perfect for a couple & Good location. This Place has enough music Cd to last all summer with out hearing the same song twice!Great sound system too! Much thought has been put in this place & quality furnishings!

Loved the condo, disliked the noise.

3 of 5

We have stayed in this condo before and love it. It is beautiful, comfortable and has everything you need. The music Friday and Saturday nights was very loud and noisy until by midnight. The people above us were very noisy coming in at 2:00 each morning. We did not like the fact that pool passes have been sold to others than those who stay at Purple Parrot. We are concerned about bringing our grandsons back this summer.

Really enjoyed our time there !

4 of 5

I really enjoyed the condo we stayed in was setup great for us. Some of the other condos were different. We had a great time, although we werent right on the beach we werent too far away. Aside from a minor incident at the pool we really enjoyed the tiki bar and pool area. Tiki bar seemed to have good entertainment every night we were there.

Will absolutely request this condo for our next visit

5 of 5

My husband and I had a wonderful vacation at this resort, due in large part to the accommodations of this condo. We were provided more than enough bed linens, pillows and bath towels. The kitchen was supplied everything one could possibly want and the furnishings in this home are beautiful. We loved the location as well. This home is definitely the one we will request for future visits.

Fantastic Condo!

5 of 5

My parents own a unit on the property, so we are familiar with the property and it's amenities. It truly felt like our own personal getaway, never felt like we were in a rental unit with all the personalizations that the owner has put into the property. We go back to visit mom and dad every year and hope to get an opportunity to stay here again! If I had to offer up one thing that could be improved it would be to clean out some of the items in the kitchen - difficult to find cabinet space to put grocery items. If you don't plan on eating in ever - not an issue!

wonderful weekend escape!

4 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Perdido Key staying at the Montego Bay Villa. It was nicely furnished and very comfortable. My only complaint might be that the wash towels in the bath room were pretty ragid and stained. And the fact that you had to drive to the beaches, but that's why the place is so affordable.
