A Night at The Ballet

A Night at The Ballet
Perdido offers more than just beach activities, especially in the fall! As the temperature starts to cool, there are plenty of activities to draw you indoors. This past weekend I went to a showing of the ballet version of the Headless Horseman.
It was out in Pensacola at the Ballet Pensacola, located in Historic
Downtown Seville Quarter.
Leaving from the office here in Perdido Key, it is actually
just a short 25 minute drive through the heart of Pensacola to get to Seville
Quarter in Pensacola. The area abuts the
scenic route to Pensacola Beach and is easy to navigate with plenty of
Once seated, the director came out to explain how the first
half there would be 3 different types of ballet danced, while the second would
get spookier for Halloween and tell a version of the headless horseman. It started out traditional, then became more
contemporary, and ended with a large group number that seemed more futuristic
but helped to blend well into the next half.
The dancing was very well coordinated
and the props helped to add to the otherworldly theme. There was a very large wooden horse that the
horseman actually rides!
While no beverages were allowed into the theatre, out in the
lobby there was a bar and sitting area, and being in the center of Pensacola
offered a variety of options for after the ballet. We opted to go to one of Pensacola’s favorite landmarks, McGuire’s Irish Pub.
McGuire’s is always lively and full of live music with multiple rooms for parties of all sizes. It is most well-known
for all of the dollar bills covering every available wall surface, as well as
$.18 bean soup, and the traditional kissing of the moose. After a prime rib dinner, we walked along the water’s edge and enjoyed the view of Pensacola and Gulf Breeze at night.
This night out was just one of the many hidden gems Perdido
Key locals and visitors alike can enjoy.
Any number of restaurants and bars in the area offer live and local
bands, as well as the freshest seafood and friendly faces. When the weather cools we might leave our
beaches, but only for the warmth of the locals inside our favorite haunts in
Pensacola. So next time you come down to
see us, ask what our plans are-we are always happy to let you in on our fun!

love to see nature in action and Perdido Key is a great place to see it.
Whether its dolphins swimming off shore (head out on a dolphin cruise for a
close up view) or crabs scurrying along the shore, there is always a fun animal
sighting nearby. Dig in the sand to find various shells, starfish, and sand
dollars. Seagulls are curiously flying overhead and the sand piper birds are
busily looking for food along the shore. There are also two state parks in Perdido
offering additional opportunities to connect with nature.

Our Top Reasons Why you should rent a vacation home for your Thanksgiving trip.

Top reasons to Rent a Vacation Home for Your Thanksgiving Vacation
Plenty of Space – Vacations home come in many shapes and sizes. You don’t have to worry about everyone cramming on the couch or even snagging a spot on the air mattress! With a vacation home, you would have plenty of room to comfortably sleep your family of 4, 6, or even 8. Most thanksgiving vacations end up with everyone sleeping in a hotel bed in the same room with other family members. It’s a great way to bring everyone together in one place, but still give everyone their own space.
No Cleaning House for Guests- A lot of the time, the nervous scramble begins when mom is running around the house throwing shoes and jackets into the hall closet, making sure that no one left dirty clothes on the bathroom floor, and trying to give the impression that no one lives there. Well with a vacation home, you can make sure that your thanksgiving spot is guest ready. Whether you all stay in the same condo, or you rent multiple condos right next door to each other, the condos are always kept neat and tidy so there’s no worry about worrying at the last minute about presentation.
Full kitchen and dining area- All vacation homes have full equipped kitchen with dish washers, ovens, and microwaves. A Thanksgiving feast is easy as pumpkin pie with all the cook wear and dinnerware ready to go!
Multiple TVS- Most vacation homes have TVs all throughout the house. So whether dad and grandpa want to watch the football game or the little ones want to watch the thanksgiving parade, there’s always a spot for everyone.
Maid service when you leave- One of the best reasons, if not the best reason, to rent a vacation home this Thanksgiving, is not having to clean up after! All that’s left to do is drive or fly home with memories of a special time with loved ones.
Activities for everyone- When the cooks are in the kitchen or at the store the day before gathering all the ingredients needed for the feast, most of the time, the little ones are running in and out of the kitchen, with the front door slamming open and closed every 5 seconds. Well now everyone can keep occupied while the chefs are at work, or even when you just want a day to have some family fun activities. There’s a ton to do in Perdido Key, and even the nearby Orange Beach area. Check out our local info page for local attractions and activities.
Low Season Rates- What better way to make your Thanksgiving trip even better, than getting is for an amazing deal!! With our rates at their lowest, you can make wonderful memories without breaking the bank.
Home away from home – In our opinion the most important reason you should rent a vacation home, is that we know that staying in hotel doesn’t exactly make the most comfortable memories. We know that you will feel at home, just as you would in your own home. Our vacation homes are all individually owned by wonderful people who take great pride and care into making their vacation homes your home away from home.
Bike Riding in Perdido
Written on Monday, October 6, 2014
Perdido Key is home to some of the most beautiful
beaches, but besides the white sandy beaches Perdido Key is known for, there is
more fun to offer from the area. Like me
you may not realize Perdido Key has a park that you can bike through. I know right, it is so beautiful and a lot of
fun for just you or the entire family.
Visitors can take a bike ride through the beautiful Gulf State Park, who
knew? If you did not or cannot travel
with a bike like me, no worries there are a few local bike rental places
available. Beach Bike Rentals is open 7 days a week, and 12 months a year, so no
matter when you visit, you can rent a bike, pretty cool right. I decided to take my bike trip in October and
the warm, not too hot weather during this time of the year was a wonderful
idea. The breeze when riding and the
view were very relaxing, and not to mention I got in a workout, what better way
to end the summer?
