Here in Perdido fishing is a lifestyle. Free fishing days are a great opportunity for parents who don’t have licenses to take the kids out or for an avid angler to introduce a friend without having to purchase a license. On these days, the fishing license requirement is waived for all recreational anglers be they residents or non-residents alike. All other rules (i.e.: seasons, bag, and size limits apply). Perdido Key has some of the best spots to offshore fish and lots of charter boat options.
License free freshwater days: 12/28/13, 4/5/14, 4/6/14, 6/7/14, 6/8/14
License free saltwater days: 6/7/14, 6/8/14, 9/6/14, 11/29/14
The saltwater waiver also applies to any of the recreational harvesting that normally needs a fishing license (crabbing, lobstering, scalloping, etc.) as well as fishing from a shore or boat. So be sure to come and ask the locals in Perdido Key where the fish are biting!
