The Interstate Mullet Toss & Gulf Coast’s Greatest Beach Party is legendary. What started as just a reason to party has become one of the biggest beach parties on the coast. Those who participate in the Mullet Toss will throw a dead mullet over the state line of Florida and Alabama to see who gets the farthest. Hotel bookings are done months, if not years in advance for this event. People travel from across the globe to see what all the fuss is about here at the Flora-Bama; the memories are priceless.

Dear Friends and Guests,
Flora-Bama and Phoenix X Condominiums have worked together to improve Mullet Toss. Please read guidelines below and help us get the word out.
Chairs around the Mullet Toss will be free and there will be areas blocked off for standing room.
As usual, personal beach chairs and tents are allowed on all Flora-Bama properties, free of charge. Limited space is available so first come, first served.
No outside coolers or alcohol can be brought onto Flora-Bama’s licensed property, but Flora-Bama will be selling beer in small coolers on the beach for customers and will have bars available on the beach for other beverages.
10x10 tent spaces are available for rent for $125 for the weekend on the Phoenix X beach from Ike’s Beach Service. Space renters will receive a separate wristband that is good for the Phoenix X beach area only. Contact Ike’s Beach Service at 251-948-3757.
Coolers are allowed in the Phoenix X beach area if the tent space is rented.
Access to Phoenix X condo will be limited to Phoenix X residents and renters. Wristbands will be issued to these people on site upon check in.
Flora-Bama wristband is good for entrance into Flora-Bama and Phoenix X beach. Phoenix X wristband does not get you into Flora-Bama.
No amplified music is allowed. No large speakers or DJ’s. Flora-Bama will be providing music and the Red Bull DJ will be on site playing music on the beach.
As always, must be 21 to drink.
Cover charge to Flora-Bama begins at 9am Fri-Sun, $10/day for 21 and up & $15 for 13-20 year olds, 12 & under are free, all ages until 6pm, then 21 and up.
Membership cards are good for entry to Flora-Bama for Mullet Toss.
Tossing of the mullet is 10am to 4pm Friday through Sunday, with kids toss at 10am and adults beginning at noon until 4pm, owners & celebrity tossers at 4pm, then finals each day at 4:30pm. It is $15 to toss a mullet and all tossers receive a t-shirt. Proceeds go to local charities.

Winners will be announced daily at 2pm for the top Coed, top Physically Challenged, top Male and top Female in the following categories:
• Children 1-9 Coed (one winner with longest toss will be awarded)
• Physically Challenged Children 1-16 (one winner with longest toss will be awarded)
• Children 10-16 Female
• Children 10-16 Male
Adults 17yrs to 50+:
Winners will be announced daily at 4:30pm for the top Physically Challenged, top Male and top Female in the following categories:
• Physically Challenged Adults 17yrs+ (one winner with longest toss will be awarded)
• Adults 17-35 Female
• Adults 17-35 Male
• Adults 36-49 Female
• Adults 36-49 Male
• Adults 50+ Female
• Adults 50+ Male

Psych! You thought it was a really bad haircut. Technically it is and you will see plenty of those here too. Please, don't hate.
A mullet is one of the more popular and plentiful fish indigenous to this area. It is the only fish with a gizzard and is said to possess mystical properties. Known as baitfish on the east coast and a local delicacy here.
It's like a big flash mob on the beach where a fish throwing event breaks out. Word.
A Mullet Toss consists of individuals on the beach throwing a mullet, from a 10-foot circle in Florida across the state line into Alabama. Not to mention a great excuse to throw a weekend long party, with lots of fun activities, great music and food!
This year's event will feature local celebrities tossing out a few fish at 4PM, each day (Friday, Saturday & Sunday).
Because anyone with a haircut like that deserves to be tossed. Just kidding, we heart mullets of all kinds.
Let's get serious, a contribution for each fish flung will go to Local Youth Charities, including local school education and prevention program from the Community Drug & Alcohol Council, Inc. (CDAC) which offers programs, community support and collaboration to address drug and alcohol abuse, tobacco, mental health issues and violence both in the home and on our streets.
Each year, with your help, we have raised and contributed over $40,000 to local charities, especially youth organizations on both sides of the state line.

The cost to toss a mullet is $15 and includes a souvenir t-shirt.
Please Note: For 2X sized shirts the cost is $17. For 3X sized shirts the cost is $18. A portion of proceeds raised for tossing mullet will go to benefit the Community Drug & Alcohol Council, Inc., local Boys & Girls Clubs, and youth groups on both sides of the line!
No but they are really, really friendly.
We donate them to Alligator Alley in Summerdale for the alligators to eat.

You will be tossing one whole mullet (approximately 1 lb.) across the FL/AL state line
Must submit registration form at the beach. Registration can be found on the east side of the Toss Ring. When registering, if you do not mark your category you will not be eligible for the finals.
COST: $15.00 Entry Fee to throw the mullet and you will receive a commerative Interstate Mullet Toss t-shirt. (Please Note: For 2X sized shirts the cost is $17. For 3X sized shirts the cost is $18.)
NO gloves or sand on mullet allowed.
Mullet will be picked out of the water bucket. After you throw, you will retrieve your mullet and toss it back into the bucket.
Mullet will be thrown from a 10' circle down a designated alley. No stepping out of circle during your throw and you must follow through or you will be disqualified.
Throwing your mullet out of bounds is an automatic disqualification.
Parking will be extremely limited. You can also request an Uber, Lyft or a local Cab.
