January and February are the prime Winter months for us here along the Emerald Coast. Instead of shoveling snow, we have cool pristine sugar white sand. While the weather is definitely a little too cool for swimming or any water activities, it's the perfect time to take a dip in the indoor pools and one of our Perdido Key Resorts! This seasons is well known as "Snowbird Season" when our friends from up north come to Perdido Key escaping their cold snowy days in exchange for traveling to our warmer temperatures along the coast. Low's will be in the 40s and the highs in the mid 60s, with a few showers here and there.
March and April start off our Spring season with low's in the 60s and highs in the upper 70s. The weather is still a little chilly for taking a dip in the ocean, but wonderful weather for taking strolls along the beach. Perdido Key is definitnely a family friendly destination, so no Spring Breakers are here to spoil your quite family vacay!
Things have definitely warmed up here in Perdido Key during these months. With lows in the mid 70s and the highs in the low 90s, it's time to hit the Gulf waters or take a dip in one of our many amazing pools. Even though school has let out, the beaches here in Perdido Key are still spaciously occupied, meaning that there's plenty of room for everyone, so you won't be elbow-to-elbow with other vacationers. We get a few showers during the week, but most don't last more than 10-15 minutes. It will be easy for you to find the right Perdido Key condo for your vacation! Many have beautiful ocean views that are perfect for this time of the year.
July and August are the busiest Summer months for us here in Perdido Key. Low's are in the mid 70s and highs are in the mid 90s, with a few showers during the week. In our opinion, this is the best time of the year to vacation in Perdido Key. The nights are cooling downs, with lows in the 60s and the highs during the day in the low 80s. It's still plenty warm enough to lay on the shore and catch yourself a Fall tan. This is the perfect time of the year to take a morning or evening stroll along the coast, or jump on a fishing charter and get your sportsman on! Baby Sea Turtle watch starts here in Perdido Key now so keep a look out for sea turtles nests and, if you happen to come across one, make sure to let the little guys have their space. No white Christmas here in Perdido Key...well unless you count the powder white sand. Lows are in the 50's and highs in the 70's. Many of us locals have spent Christmas in shorts in flips flops! The weather is definitely too cool for a swim in the Gulf for us, but the indoor pools at some of our Perdido Key Resorts are warm and inviting during the winter season... Also, this is when we have many festivals throughout the area! The Shrimp Festival, Seafood Festival, Blue Angel Homecoming Airshow, The Songwriters Festival and The Downtown Lights Festival just to name a few!
