Friday, October 9, 2026 | Information checked at 7:19 a.m. CDTFrom the Perdido Key Resort Management team If Hurricane Isaias has interrupted your Perdido Key vacation, the most useful information right now is what to do about your arrival, how to reach us, and what needs to happen before a property can welcome guests again. We’ve brought those answers together here, along with a look at the property-care work completed before our office closed. Please follow evacuation and travel restrictions Escambia County’s evacuation order covers Zones A and B, including Perdido Key, effective noon Thursday, October 8. It also applies to mobile homes and low-lying areas regardless of zone. If you are still in an affected area, follow the county’s evacuation instructions promptly and safely. The National Weather Service Mobile/Pensacola office is warning of serious impacts from Isaias, including dangerous storm surge, damaging winds, flooding and tornadoes. Keep checking official updates. Please don’t return to a rental to inspect it while evacuation orders or access restrictions remain in place. Questions about your PKRM reservation We’ve safely left our rental. Is there anything else to do? Once you are safe, reply to the guest text or email you received from PKRM to confirm that you have departed. That helps our team keep departure information current. You can also find the original instructions in our guest evacuation and reservation notice. Should we keep our upcoming arrival plans? Please wait for a property-specific confirmation from PKRM before traveling here. Our office is closed, with no staff working on the island Friday, October 9, through Sunday, October 11. Monday, October 12, remains the earliest anticipated return to on-site operations and check-ins. It is tentative. Official advisories, safe access, building clearance, utilities and the condition of your rental will determine when an arrival is possible. A date on your reservation alone does not confirm that the property is ready. How can we contact the team during the closure? Text 850-605-3965 and include your name, property or reservation number, and a brief description of what you need. This line accepts texts only. Staff will check messages periodically as their availability, power and cellular service permit, so replies may be delayed. For an immediate emergency, call 911. For county evacuation or shelter information, call 850-471-6600 or visit the Escambia County Storm Center. What about rescheduling or a refund? After the storm and the restoration of services, our team will review affected reservations and the available options. Those options depend on the individual reservation, property, dates and booking channel. We can’t confirm a refund or replacement stay through a general blog update; your reservation will need its own review. For owners: the work before and after the closure Each vacation home has its own preparation needs and owner arrangements. Before the closure, our team worked from property checklists and coordinated the requested services, including bringing outdoor furniture inside where arranged. The photos below show examples from that preparation, rather than a report on every property we manage. A rear-deck view of window and door coverings in place. Taken during preparation before the office closure. A closer look at a window covering and its attachment point during the pre-closure work. For owners waiting from a distance, the next useful update will be about the condition of their own home or condo. Property assessments and arranged post-storm services can begin only when entry is permitted and conditions are safe. We cannot promise an inspection time while access and storm impacts are still uncertain. What has to be checked before guests return? Reopening involves more than the weather clearing. The team needs safe access, information about building and utility conditions, and an assessment of the rental itself. Any visible damage or maintenance concerns will require appropriate follow-up. A building’s reopening is one part of that process; readiness still has to be considered for each home or condo. Evening light across closed shutters along a covered walkway. This is a preparation photo from before the closure, not a post-storm assessment. Thank you to our guests, owners and staff for your patience with changing plans and slower communication. We look forward to welcoming guests back when it is safe to do so. Owners who would like to learn more about working with our local team can read about PKRM vacation rental management.
