Perdido Key History
Perdido Key is a
narrow strip of white sandy beaches with emerald blue water located in the
Northwest Panhandle of Florida, between Pensacola and Orange Beach, Alabama.
The narrow strip of beach is no more than a few hundred yards wide in some
locations, but stretches about 16 miles long.
This long narrow strip of snow white beach is almost 60% in state and
federal parks, which makes this beautiful area one of the last unspoiled
stretches of wilderness in the Florida Panhandle. Discovered by the Spanish in 1693, Perdido Key literally means “Lost Key”. Until
the beautiful key was founded it was a well-kept secret of the Gulf Coast

Visiting the Perdido Key area soon and want to know ahead of time what is a ton of fun, and not far from your resort or condo? Well Downtown Pensacola is popular for their Gallery Night and, trust me it is so much more fun than it sounds! When I first moved to Pensacola, I wanted to check out downtown Pensacola and the night life, so I talked my husband and brother into taking me. When I arrived there were tons of people all over the place and everyone was having such a great time. I could only relate the night to Mardi Gras, coming from Mobile, AL. The streets were full of people, music, food, and much more. As I walked through the streets and tried different venues I asked what was going on and why are there so many people, someone told me this is Gallery Night
